New Roadhog Buff posted just now

I’m a happy Hog now. Better crits, better hook, better primary falloff. Now all I can ask for is for Hook to cancel momentum again and for the RNG shotgun spread to go away.

More of a shield damage nerf.

This honestly brings a smile to this hog main face (Wipes manly tear away)

This community does have a habit of having nothing good to say about anything. Mistakes are met with hate like “This game is dead”, and good changes are met with dismissive remarks like “What took you so long” and “Where’s my [insert hero here] buff?”.

His alt and primary fire start falloff at 15 meters. His primary should never be used at 15 meters, it’s a huge spread weapon only for up close. His secondary gun explodes at 10 meters, and you’re supposed to aim to hit the target from 10 meters with it. At 15 meters, both alt and primary fire are really spread out, so the falloff isn’t going to interfere with Roadhog’s effective range at all. The falloff’s only purpose now is to make sure players only focus on short range with him, which is what falloff on short range characters is meant for. Reaper and Tracer are perfect examples of this. Roadhog’s shield busting is now better than ever.

Yes, it a tiny re-balance of Roadhog (a little worse at long ranges, a little better a mid-close ranges).

Maybe this is the mini-buff we were asking for. If not, they can buff him again.

Several months ago, Mei was considered a troll pick, and then he received 3 mini-buffs (more ammo clip, cryoblaster can pierce enemies, and freeze effect lasts more), and finally they remove the fallof of her. This one last change finally made her viable, but the 3 minibuffs helps her a lot better while using her ult.

Now, Roadhog is following similar steps: hook fixed (and I think it breaks less than before now), finishing wholehog reloads scrapgun, the crits fixes and now the fallof fixes (better for primary, worse for secondary).

Nothing your ‘testing’ is making hog better in any useful way, its just for last ditch efforts to finish off a low HP targets by 5m.

So… devs are happy with a walking punching bag then? Great, now we’re in prime ‘blizzard rework’ list.

So instead of reverting something that was never deemed a ‘bug’ until recently even though its been in the game ever since his conception, they do this to him and could possibly make him insanely strong again?

Near worthless buff to his primary with the spread at that range. An overall massive nerf to the usefulness of one of the bottom three characters in the game by a dev team that keeps proving it doesn’t understand how to balance a game.

So lets establish what Roadhog isn’t allowed to do according to these devs and how they have “balanced” him.

He isn’t allowed to.

Deal damage.
Break shields.
Mitigate damage for his team.
Be useful to his teammates.

Just remove him from the game if this is what you are going to do with him. The only useful part of his kit is a buggy skill shot on a long cd now which wouldn’t be equivalent value for your team for the ult charge and useful abilities of good characters you are giving up if you landed it every single time it came off of cooldown.

Fall off is measured from where the Scrap Ball explodes and not from where the Scrap Gun shoots, max damage is therefore from 9 to 24 meters and this is all a net buff to Roadhog at his preferred rage compared to being able to shield spam from across the entire map.

roadhog is so bad… its a joke.

i really hope blizz is giving him some serious buffs

They are going to have to agreed Torbjorn not being F-tier makes armor more common.

Now if only he didn’t have awful spread which was also super RNG. I shouldn’t have to aim for the upper chest on an enemy I just hooked so most of my pellets hit and maybe kill them.

Games like Quake and TF2 competitive mode had a fixed spread pattern in their shotguns.

I’m not even asking for fixed spread just more consistent then hitting everything in my LOS.

So this means his damaged has been nerfed, in case anyone missed it. Doesn’t take a lot of gameplay knowledge to realize that “no fall off” to “fall off” isn’t an improvement. Increasing his main weapons range by 10m is not an adequate improvement and in effect they have nerfed his right click and only increased the range of his left click a minimal distance.

Oooooooo so he is a sniper now.

Not really, he had unlimited range on his right click, but 20 degrees of spread.

Now he has full damage at 24m range, and less at further ranges.

Overall it’s a downgrade.
