No. This is the consequence of 5V5. There will always be one super Tank, there will always be one that’s just better than the rest, there will always be one that just screws you over in particular.

I agree, but DVA is unique in that we’ve never seen an S tier tank like this before. The armor change did not buff the tanks evenly, DVA was the clear winner here. She’s so good that inting isn’t even inting anymore-it’s a viable playstyle
As good as Winston was/is… I can’t think of an easier tank to start off 0-3 & contemplate having to switch off

I think Mauga was better just because any idiot could play him. D.Va at least can’t self-heal and has to manage a finite, albeit lengthy DM.
Either way, Blizzard should either lean into the raid boss gimmick and make all Tanks super OPAF, or just stop with all the BS bandaid passives and make Tanks feel like normal players again, which would only really work in, say it with me now, 6V6.

Yes we have. Mauga, Orisa, even Hog have all been worse. And I forgot about the Zarya meta in season 1. There was also that time that agony was grape flavored

I said an S tier tank LIKE what we have now with DVA. Her buffed kit is fine, I like fresh metas too. Her armor is BROKE. The combination of the two allows her to int without repercussion. I won’t even call you out for claiming Hog has ever been S tier(lol)
Ana will always keep Mauga/Hog in check.
Yeah the Orisa metas are rough but she can’t dive you… You don’t have to brawl with her outside OT/last point
Even if we say Zarya is hard counter to DVA(she’s not)… that would be map dependent

I never wouldve played tank if not for 5v5, 6v6 tanks were just slightly bigger dps. They had no character.
5v5 changed it all, and made tanks, TANKS. They made tanks what they were supposed to be. Tanks are meant to be raid bosses. They are meant to be hard to kill.
Your argument doesn’t even make sense, there have been seasons in this game with no “super tank”. Dva is a problem not because of 5v5, but because of no forethought.
Thats the only problem with 5v5, is no forethought on certain abilities. Like D matrix, had to be buffed sure, but they buffed it too much.
It is absolutely possible to have 5v5 with no overpowered tanks.

They cried about rein too , you have no idea the insults they will give rein when he is actually meta remember in ow1 when he got 550 hp with more Armor and extra dmg.

Current state of tanks is unsustainable in long run for the game, but dva is atleast way more interactable than borissa I’m gold, oh I’m a circus horse spinning javelin now.

Okay so the way overbuff works right there will always be 2 consistent things.
Even if the data isn’t 100% accurate you can see when something is clearly clearly pass what should be normal.
And you can see the “Trend” of how the games playing out.
And also cross reference this with top 500
So even if you dont trust it this basic set of information will always always always be true.
Simply having counters dosen’t mean you don’t have an absolutely absurd win and pick rate and kda… Mauga had counters to.
