I can’t stand a second year of Orisa Sigma stacking shields. Please, I know you’re working on OW2, but all you need to do for the time being is nerf double shield. Long queues and double shield meta are the reason people aren’t having fun and quitting. So please, I’m not asking for a Sigma rework for now, but nerf the shields more and be more aggressive when balancing stuff like this.

It’s not that popular right now and I hope it stays that way. Some people want D.Va nerfed and that would most likely mean more double shield.
That said, I don’t think double shield needs a nerf because it isn’t over the top at the moment and OW2 is hopefully less than a year away. If OW2 isn’t going to release in 2022 then double shield is the least of our worries.

This isn’t my idea, but someone posted a while back about combining shield damage, meaning if there are two shields in close proximity, they would both take damage when you shoot one.
This would allow them to buff orisa’s individual shield without making double shield worse.
I think they would need to separate Brig’s shield from the equation, as it is already a paper bag.
All this being said, I don’t know how easy this would be to implement from the programming side.

While that’s an interesting idea, does it actually solve the problem? I thought the way to go about double barrier was to cycle through the various cooldowns available to both tanks (plus Bap’s IF), not to dump all barriers at once.

Ball and Hog are more popular than double shield.
They will never allow a shield tank to sabotage their teammate by standing near them. They will never allow a tank to sabotage another tank by playing whoever they want.
I’m curious, where exactly is double shield being played so often? Is Overbuff really that inaccurate? Neither Sigma or Orisa are even Top 3 in GM
While I don’t think double shield is an issue right now, suggesting a dps pick to solve an issue kinda doesn’t work for 66% of the people in the game.
Maybe Overbuff isn’t as accurate as the forums like to think it is considering streamers like Flats are also complaining about “Constant double shield” while Sigma/Orisa aren’t even top 3 on Overbuff in GM. After all, Blizz came out and said a few years ago that Overbuff doesn’t line up with their 100% accurate internal stats
Except it has been accurate on everything but winrates cus winrates formula is very bad. Its cus ppl remember double shield more.

Honestly from most streams I’ve been watching they’re playing far more Orisa/Dva, Hog/Ball, Sigma/Ball, than Orisa/Sigma. It’s just that people tend to remember negative experiences far more so they only remember the double shield games while forgetting the non-double shield games, so they perceive ranked as being “nothing but double shield” when they might only be getting double shield once every four games.
Well, can help with supports. Baptiste and Zenyatta both can contribute greatly to shield break, and work rather well together. Mercy can boost a shield breaker’s damage, leading to faster shield break. Lucio has the maneuverability to bypass shields and disrupt the enemy team or support divers.
Ana isn’t a great choice, as shields can interfere with her abilities heavily. If you can find off angles, she can work, but will be tough depending on map.
Moira is shut down pretty hard by double shield, unless she’s following divers in and engaging in short range combat. At least until she gets ult. She’s high risk, high reward.
