I’m a US East player who plays at 40-50 ping normally, or if I happen to get a West coast game it goes up to 60-70 max. USE’s server is ORD1 (Chicago) while USW’s server is LAX1 (Los Angeles).
Just yesterday, every ORD1 server I’ve connected to has given me 300 ping. I noticed that if I started a custom game, it would set the game server in SAC1 (Chile/S.America) and I would have 120 ping.
I contacted Blizzard support but they only told me to update my visual drivers, which would have no effect on my IP routing me the wrong way.
Blizz is currently aware about this issue and are currently compiling data. They have been for the most part silent because I think they are not sure what is going on, butI made a post about this and I’d recommend following the steps given by this MVP tech support and then post the results to the thread to help them resolve the issue as soon as possible.
