Microsoft/Blizzard merger entering the end-game

Yeah I saw that…

That is an unrelated case that has nothing to do with the Microsoft merger…

FOSSpatents demonstrating that they don’t understand the process or are willfully misinterpreting…

Huh you’re right. I guess I read the tweet wrong that they “should” revise/

Even if MS owns actiblizz, this will not change anything related to Overwatch.

They only care about the one that sells the most which is the CoD series, OW2 is most likely not even on their mind.

They literally featured OW2 in their recent Xbox showcase.

OW2 has been struggling due to not having enough budget, but it has brand recognition on par with Pokemon.

And Microsoft is a 3 Trillion dollar company. They got money.

Okay? Thats only because OW2 and Diablo 4 is Blizzards newest games, at the end of the day they are gonna care most about CoD which has a longer history than OW and a bigger fanbase.

They got enough money that they don’t need to limit their choices.

Id rather support Sony over blizzard or activsion or MS tbh

Horizon and Ghost of Tsushima were better than anything blizz has done in a long time

It doesnt matter how much money they got, all they care about is which they can make the most profit from, and CoD is the one to do it with over OW2.

Why not make profit from everything?

Why is it “Either Or” and not “Both”?

Because they are gonna prioritize what is the most popular, and CoD is and will always be the more popular over all blizzard games.

You are being hopeful that things are just magically gonna change when microsoft takes over when most likely nothing will and you then will be disappointed.

Just like how everyone was being all hyped and hopeful for pve and then got disappointed in the end.

Overall, keep your expectations low so that you are not disappointed in the end.

You’re not wrong. But I’ll take a good chance of improvement, over almost a certainty of no improvement with what we got now.

So when is the trial starting?

:smiley_cat:

20 minutes ago. But it’s going to be offcamera for another I think another 40 minutes because they are reviewing financial documents

This^^^ People are holding a big grudge against bobby and yeah he should go but it still wont make the game better

MS doesnt care about ow and wont do anything with it that isnt being done now

The way I see, Overwatch budget is so low that even a moderate budget from Microsoft would be a huge increase.

They don’t want another RedFall criticism

Whoa looks like today we’re going to get to see things really kick off…

Some of the big boys in the industry are in the courtroom for this one like Xbox CEO and stadia product lead so it should be interesting…

Yup. And a cardboard cutout of Jim Ryan.

Microsoft was working to offer xCloud separately.

Microsoft has argued that Xbox Cloud Gaming (xCloud) is just an add-on or a feature, but the company was working on a dedicated version of Xbox Cloud Gaming that wasn’t tied to its premium Xbox Game Pass Ultimate tier.

Xbox’s Sarah Bond was asked about this in September 2022 and said “Xbox would very much like to do it.” But Microsoft has strangely changed its mind, perhaps thanks to regulatory concerns around cloud gaming.

“No effing way.”

That was the reaction from Xbox’s Matt Booty to Nvidia putting games on GeForce Now without Microsoft’s permission. Microsoft was “not putting our first-party IP on competing streaming or subscription services. No effing way,” in a 2019 email from Booty.

He then went on to recommend in a March 2021 email to Xbox chief Phil Spencer that Bethesda’s games be pulled from Nvidia’s GeForce Now shortly after the acquisition. “We have pulled all Xbox Game Studios titles from GeForce Now, so as to not compete with xCloud,” said Booty. “I would recommend that in the absence of any other plans that we do the same for Bethesda titles.”

Here’s a pretty good review too
