Mercy needs a little help in 2-2-2

mercy is a hero that enables DPS. when will ppl learn that every hero got a nieche to them? mercy simply isnt the big tank healer. she heals fair amount for someone that doesnt get their healing cut off by objects and enemy shields. be happy about that and learn why mercy doesnt heal as much as other healers .u should prioritize dmg boosting more , its rly OP :))

Hello fellow AI scrub!

I mean I had a feeling Mercy was going to be played more like an off healer when 2-2-2 rolled in since tanks aren’t her forte.

Maybe those ideas Goodman had might come to light.

I agree, and here are my ideas for helping Mercy.

Resurrect

  • Change into a charge meter which can be charged through various actions such as healing a teammate who needs healing or damage boosting a teammate who is hitting their target at the time
  • An unsuccessful resurrection will result in all charge lost
  • A successful resurrection gives 100 ‘fire’
  • Change the following, but perhaps only one:
    – Decrease cast time slightly
    – Allow Mercy to continue using her staff and/or pistol during casting

Notes: The ‘fire’ points will make it a bit easier for Mercy players, who perform successful resurrections, to be ‘on fire’. Becoming a charged ability, rather than a fixed cooldown, makes the ability feel less cheap to opponents especially as it’s not freely available to use at the start of a round. As compensation, the ability won’t feel as clunky to use for Mercy players while providing a more noticeable skill ceiling.

Valkyrie

  • Decrease the healing rate (to 10 or 20 HP/sec ?) of those on a chain beam, not the main beam
  • Increase the healing rate (to 70 or 80 HP/sec ?) of those on the main beam
  • Remove infinite ammunition
  • Reduce ultimate duration slightly (to 12 seconds ?)

Notes: Valkyrie was only able to negate the damage of Winston’s weapon at best, not even outheal it, whereas this change now allows Mercy players to heal their target more effectively and should help bring it further in line with other main healers such as Moira’s ultimate ability. Removing infinite ammunition reduces the idea of going Battle Mercy, especially as she’s a pacifist in lore. The ultimate ability, now that it will deliver more healing per second to the primary target, doesn’t need to last quite as long. Decision making has been re-introduced.

Caduceus Staff

  • Increase healing to 55 HP/sec

Notes: This makes it a little less frustrating for Mercy players to heal targets with a higher HP pool, such as tank, while Winston’s weapon, for example, isn’t useless on those being healed by Mercy outside of Valkyrie.

Which is very unfortunate.

Fully agree. The only supports I’m really good with are Moira and Mercy, so queuing into support has been me trying to get Moira picked, otherwise I’m stuck with playing Mercy, who’s healing is just completely underwhelming in comparison. Why would you pick Mercy over any other healer? She can damage boost and Rez, but her heals are just underwhelming with the damage in the game and large health pools. If the enemy team is playing snipers, good luck. There’s a reason she’s not getting played in OWL.

I don’t really agree. I’m a main support player… I play a lot of mercy. With role que beta I have played more than 3 hours on her with 13K healing per 10 minutes (will go down to about 12500 healing). I take it you guys have like 9K healing per 10 minutes on Mercy… Then I can imagine you will lack healing.

In my opinion, she is fine as the main healer.

Well at least it’d be something.

On console

Based on your experience, on console. Making it not only inferior by virtue of being on console but also inapplicable to the majority of players who play on PC, not console.

Agreed

Agreed. She needs to be reworked to fit in 222.

Console shaming, again?

wow

Just wow

Console players are players

PC Players are players

same

Console and Console players are not inferior to PC and PC Players, respectively

Yes, Mercy is a off heal now. A very good one with also the best burst heal in the game that makes people come back from the dead and replenish their health entirely. She’s fine. Just run a main healer (Moira, ana, baptiste…) with her.

Imo, Mercy is and always has been a main healer

Now she mostly have to focus on healing and damage boosting squishies, because she can’t heal tanks fast enough to keep them alive. Also very good mobility and capacity to quickly reach any teammate. That’s off healer for me.

Our experiences differ - I have as Mercy saved my tanks many, many, many times

As I said - imo, Mercy is and always has been a main healer

Really? I have been playing Mercy as a main healer and successfully. :man_shrugging: This is not my experience.

If anything, I wish they’d dial everyone else’s healing down overall. With Ana + Moira, it’s nearly impossible for things to die unless you one-shot them with other busted heroes like Widow/Hanzo.

Mercy has fantastic sustain healing and utility, though. I wouldn’t think she needs to be buffed or altered for 2-2-2. I actually feel more successful in 2-2-2 than other variations.

out of likes, andough – sorry buddy

also, you rock, @Widowmeiker. 1.2k and counting. 2nd place is 160 at present

50 heal per sec. That means she needs 10 second to fully heal a Reinhart. Ain’t nobody got time for that in a teamfight.

No healer can heal a Reinhardt who is down 500 HP

but one healer – just one – can bring him back from 0 to 500

Well, yeah, but main healer doesn’t mean you’re the only healer.

If we keep buffing healing so that single main-healers can heal tanks like Reinhardt fast, it’d be absurdly hard to kill people when you start stacking heals.

Also, 50 healing per second doesn’t mean 10 seconds to fully heal a Reinhardt since he’s not going to go from 0-500. 0 health means he died lol. You typically heal them when they start getting low. And again, paired with an off-healer, he heals up pretty fast.
