Mercy mains, stop it

Stop rezing your teammate if you’re getting shot at by the other team. What do you expect me to do once you’ve died?

I like giving people false expectations of hope

Okay no. If I’m rez’ing you in a risky situation, it usually means I think you’re worth the risk.

Example: we had a very good widow on our team who happened to die. I rez’d them despite knowing I’ll likely be killed. They were revived but I died immediately after since I got caught in the crossfire. The widow wasted no time and killed 3 people on the enemy team and won the team fight for us.

Then they picked me up from spawn so I was back before my absence mattered

Dying for the rez is NOT a good strategy but sometimes risking it and sacrificing yourself might be the best move. In that team fight, we lost our best player and the enemy had advantage. They would have capped the point if we gave them any leeway. If we have a 90% chance of losing with our best player down, I’d rather die to get them back up in the chance they might turn the fight around when revived. And they did.

(But most people who rez like that all the time are just low rank Mercys? Idk why you expect anything good from a bad player. You probably make just as many dumb decisions on your hero, it’s just less obvious lmao)

It’s a lesson all Mercy players gotta learn, you aren’t “losing” value by not using rez if it’s available.

You can actually get negative value from rez, by rezzing them into a firing squad and staggering their respawn, or making them waste an ult out of pressure and desperation

sometimes in silver when i rez, the enemy shoot at me but they miss too many shots to kill me. so i can still rez and only lose like half hp

I kept rezzing my friend who wanted to switch and my response was “welcome to your own special hell”

I only do this to a super mobile hero who i can see have potential/skill because i know that they can escape right away once rezzed.
many times i ended not dying too much and continue to pocket the said hero that carry us the game.

And sometimes i do this to experience adrenaline becasue mercy gameplay becomes super boring that you need something to pump u up! Just like how many genji mains and rein try to solo the enemy team. We all need that adrenaline rush, dont gatekeep it JK.

I do love when mercy rezzes me in the middle of the enemy team after we have already lost the fight.

“I’m in danger”

A good support player will see a team mate go down and know the mercy would like to rezz them and provide appropriate healing, same with Zarya bubble/tank cover.

While rezzing under fire the Mercy can 180 to face their team and plan their shift+space bunny hop exit plan and execute the moment rezz is finished.

In my mind there’s a difference between ‘getting shot at’ and ‘certain death’ - if certain death (especially if not all team mates are present/alive) then I agree bonehead move to rezz the majority of the time :slightly_smiling_face:

Also not sure why thread title targets mercy mains specifically, kind of weird as it’s more likely less seasoned players doing foolish rezzing unless memeing  :man_shrugging:

I actually had a game where i played mercy on volskaya (i’m gold rank on healer) and yes for some stupid reason i decided to rez my teammate right infront of the enemy mccree.

and this is where i get so confused, we were defending on point A and i think he was actually going on together with his mercy and if i’m right he haven’t used ANY of his abilities. (i can’t really remember) BUT if i remember it right he actually had to reload so he could have used his stun on me, but nope he didn’t do that either i don’t know if he actually had used it before or if the player forgot mccree had that ability :man_shrugging:t2: i dunno??

So in the end I actually pulled off the rez and flew away from there saving my a** from getting eliminated :face_with_hand_over_mouth::face_with_hand_over_mouth:

So some people can actually be pretty stoopid and miss their shots or simply do mistakes.

Sometimes bad rezzes like that can succeed (if you’re lucky), because i’ve had many games where i rezed my teammate and the enemy simply didn’t care about me at all.

Bro people who go out and try to rez in front of a whole team and then complain about dps and tanks make me die inside. It was funny for like 5 minutes and then it wasn’t. This game has been out for 5 years and people still do it

I just want to pad my stats, bruh. Don’t worry, no expectations here except that you feed them more ultimates so that I can rez you again.

Sometimes a Mercy knows when the damage being done is piddly.

I will always remember a bit from Niandra’s stream when they rezzed as Ball was shooting them-just them going “screw your damage”. Rezzed, locked, sling shot, and the DPS was able to not only take out the Ball but they got a second push.

That’s something people neglect about some REALLY good Mercy players-they know who hits the hardest in DPS and can make the right calls.

It’s one of the harder things to learn but sometimes a Mercy player knows what they can live through so just don’t jump into that idea of them being reckless. (Are some? Absolutely-but assuming all are like this is kinda ridiculous)
