Mercy is still Statistically one of the best supports in the game, As she has the second highest healing right next to Baptiste.
Is on average, the third highest played support in competitive.
And quite frankly is one of the most survivable heroes in the game especially.
But because of shear utility that rez, she has to be bogged down by a ridiculous degree.
And simply because of that fact she needs a rework specifically for that ability, Ideally changing it to something more of a precautionary measure.
like a halo that is thrown above an allies head for a short period of time, which when it expires will heal for a set amount. be it that if such ally were killed during that the abilities duration they would get a Mini rez. Which would not only mitigate such a death, but burst heal for around the amount as a Large health pack.
Of course something else along those lines would be work just as well.
Be it in this case I do believe it should allow for mercy to be no longer bogged down by the 30 second cooldown, or the fact slowdown current rez needs to counterbalance.
As well as providing her with an additional healing source, that can also be used to provide coverage for multiple heroes at once.
So you can still be supporting that genji in the back line while keep the tank up. Or even get that clutch save your fellow support, who so happened to be caught off guard by a flanker.
Also I would like to note that Mercy 1.0 is not the solution to this problem because that version had a whole host of issues, including but not limited to being easily caught out be flankers and ultimates. As well as the game flow complications that fat rez brought with it.

Thats exactly what I think.
I personally think that her healing is fine as it is due to its consistency, its resurrect that I find to be a huge problem.
I also think that Valkyrie’s chain beams are a problem since it artificially inflates her stats when it shouldnt. She’s supposed to be a strong single target healer yet Valkyrie on top of removing that removes all her weaknesses for a staggering 15 seconds and yet is still underwhelming in spite of that.
At this point I think they should either remove Resurrect or find a way to make it work that doesnt force Mercy into the same behaviours they disliked about Mercy doing including the fact that every change to Mercy when she had mass rez was a buff to it because she was dying or sacrificing herself. And this is when it was INSTANT and aoe.
I made a post a while back that further describes my thoughts in more detail:

I do find your points quite interesting, however i personally feel that isn’t to much of an issue. As it allows for mercy to be more independent in situations where her team doesn’t allow for a safe escape Via her sole mobility option.
Be it that I do see them potentially removing the healing buff to valk if they were to implement the Halo idea specifically.
As to compensate for the additional healing output. be it the halo concept in its self is both a nerf and buff to various aspects of it utility. So take all of that as you will.
Be it that all in all not a bad concept all together.
I agree, I just think that Valkyrie tries to be good by removing all of Mercy’s inherent weaknesses and its long duration, but we all know the real reason she was so strong is because of Valkyries interaction with Resurrect.
If anything, they could probably revert the speed changes to Valkyrie. WHile I would like it removed, I can settle for removing the chain beams in exchange for a much stronger main beam so that she still needs to manage something in beam juggling. Maybe make the hps 100 but single target? I dont know.

the problem with consistent single target healing above the 50~ish hps mark is that you would be out healing tank damage completely, making them just their for their utility alone. Which is not really fun for the tank player. Ontop of slowing TTk to a crawl, forcing one shots abilities above all else.
give Mercy Achoos sticky bombs, and thats it, Achoo doesnt need anything, its already bloated with dmg abilities , its beam can be right click.
Na we should just give Ana wall climb
im sorry, we already decided that Ana should get Marry Poppins umbrella , she propels herself up in the air, and can glide for small period of time (very little and slow glide, and height is about as Batistas boots thing)
Agreed, I say leave her base healing alone. What I’m saying is that in Valkyrie only instead of having a chain heal 60hps, for potentially 300HPS, she gets 100hps but its single target, that way you have more to manage and arent just playing even more brainlessly with Valkyrie since it currently removes every aspect of Mercy you would otherwise have to manage.
Rez is just a dumb ability and should’ve been removed altogether instead of being turned into one.
Agreed. Unfortunately the devs dont want to remove it or admit that theyve basically given Mercy two ultimates rather than having an e ability. Like in the echo example I gave, its quite telling when you make a hero with an ultimate that lets them copy a hero and get 650% increased ultimate generation and thus be able to potentially use more than one ultimate, that internally they found that people would often copy a Mercy just to use Resurrect once.

to be fair I’ve seen many echo do the same for a anti-nade or hog hook. Be it that do fully agree that a free safe rez is definitely worth the ult in itself.
No yeah definately, antinade is an extremely strong ability, its just a bit interesting when you have abilities that people give such high regard to that they would pick using them over potentially multiple ultimates.
