Kudos on a constitutive thread so far.
Remove Valkyrie and give her an entirely new rework is what I want. At least then, it won’t make fun and balance mutually exclusive for a large number of players. Also, just for the sake of fun, I’m willing to remove Resurrect.

Bit off topic, but Im okay with increasing her Valk healing, is because currently, it feels like her healing is when you pump a petrol or gas, into your car, it takes a LONG time.

However… can you imagine any sort of Valkyrie that you might find fun?
Maybe one that gives her better single target healing.
Maybe one that lets her go ham with her blaster.
Maybe one that is still Valkyrie, but it is more an amalgamation of it and Mass Resurrect?
I don’t play Mercy at a high level, I mainly play Moira, Brigitte and Ana. Whatever’s required of me. To tell the truth, I only did placements for this season (for different reasons, mainly cause everyone’s rude in comp)
I tried playing her a few times and my team just told me that I should swap even though I was doing quite okay in my own opinion.

Thanks for this thread I think it’s nice that someone is willing to try and unite both sides of the Mercy spectrum and come to a consensus in a positive way. Keep up the great work OP!
I had made a suggestion yesterday in another thread on a kit that uses both elements from Valkyrie and Mass Ress iterations of Mercy. It isn’t perfect of course, but I believe that it would be appropriate to include here as well. Namely for me, in a Valkyrie-centric kit, I would love to have a system where you can earn res charges that can are exclusively used when ulting.

I’ve been in GM for most of the seasons, I used to play more but it gets boring defending what you want to play after a while.
Every category is going through that though, not just Mercy.
I’m aware, and that’s what I was hinting at. I don’t just play Mercy you know.

Ability Description and Traits:
- Duration: 8 seconds
- Mercy gains the current movement bonuses of Valkyrie
- Self Regen and chain beams removed
- Healing increased to 120 HPS
- Damage boost increased to 45%
Addons:
The Q button becomes a single (or double) rez that can only be used during this 8 second duration
Critiques: N/A
At least with this, she feels engaging and impactful.

ahh gotcha I misunderstood then, thought you were referring to the current season with Mercy.
Thank you for opening a neutral venue for people to give ideas instead of complaining one way or another, that said I’ve always had one idea that I think would satisfy a lot of people even though it kind of tip toes with Zen a little bit, I’ll explain the problems I perceive first

Mercy’s healing is disregarded as weak because it’s sustained and it’s impact tends to go unnoticed because using it for fighting isn’t particularly ideal at 50 hps (even though it’s pretty helpful)

People dislike that she lost the impact from mass rez and that in comparison to other support ults, valkirye feels pretty washed out (refrain from discussing if it is or not, this is what they identify as a problem)

There’s also the fact that being single target is Mercy’s deal, so you’d want to preserve it as much as possible… current Valk goes against this btw so Mercy’s niche is being directly affected by the healing beam branches though the dmg boost branches are pretty good

E Rez is pretty binary and the only way to rig it is to use cover and/or player focus (ninja rez) which while being pretty strategic based seems disregarded as too simple
And so my proposed solution to this problem is this:
Caduceus staff - remains untouched, 50 hps
Caduceus blaster - same
Ga - same
Resurrect:
Same slow but while channeling rez Mercy can fly (like in valk) and she can also activate her ult mid channel, the flight lasts for 1.25 seconds after rez
Valkirye:
Upon activation, Mercy releases the power of her suit which explodes in a healing wave and enhances her skills

The wave heals everything it touches for 200 hp, including shields and Mercy herself

Souls touched by healing wave are ready to be resurrected without casting time (naturally you can only rez according to your rez cooldown, so it’s a one time thing)

Healing beam is single target, heals 70 hps

Valkirye can be activated while rezzing which means Mercy can react to incoming dmg (except a sniper headshot) and force rez success

Dmg boost is single target, no benefit whatsoever from ulting

Blaster remains the same as current, infinite bullets

Health regen lowered but still constant while valk is active

Naturally free flight is still present
Because that is what she needs.

At least the single target. Let me think a little up there, who to heal and such. Less duration, more HPS and single target.
Make her ult feel engaging. Make it have some possibility for error, so doing it right feels good.
For me personally I would create mercy 3.0 with the following changes;
Ultimate ability
- valkyrie removed.
- Ressurect 2.0 to take its place.
- ultimate cost 25% more than mercys original ressurect ultimate.
- Mercy must have line of sight of her ressurect targets.
- Ressurect targets will take 1.75 seconds to be fully resurrect , during this time Mercy will have full mobilty but if she is stunned or killed her ultimate will be fully canceled.
- invincibility while resurrecting removed.
- All teammates within mercy’s resurrect radius will receive 200hp of healing over 2 seconds.
E Ability
- Resurrect removed.
- Caduceus overbuff to replace it.
- For 6 seconds Mercy will be able to do 75hps and 35% damage boost to a single target Simultaneously, along with her healing chain being increased by 2m.
- Mercy will get boosted 15m into the sky.(if she jumps)
- Ability will start it’s of cool down for 20 seconds after the ability has been fully ended.
- Pistol fire rate increased by 15% when activating caduceus overbuff.
Healing
- healing reverted to 60hps.
Damage boost
- Reduced to 25%
Self heal
- Will now take affect after 2 seconds of not being hit. Formerly 1 second.
Gaurdian angel
- Increased range from 30m to 40m.
Her passive gameplay should die. So I would try out something like that as a first step:
- Aimed beams (Zarya like)
- Better defending options than the gun, maybe modify the dmg boost so that it also deal damage to be balance out for the numerical values.
- Test a Genji like healing dash. 15 m, 5 or 6 sec CD, No reset heal/dmg 25 Friends/ennemies. (numerical value to tune accordingly)
- Test to modify her passive for more airborn manoeuverability / speed.
That is intriguing. Storing up Resurrect charges for use during her ult is intriguing.
In your view of this, would all the charges be used on the first cast or would it be more of a Fly to the downed Widow -> 1.25s res -> fly to downed Roadhog -> 1.25s res and so on?
Also would she get some sort of E since that sounds like the heal to gain res charges to use in Valk would be hitting Q again during her ult.
I will say I don’t think the devs will go for a full flip flop of her E and Q at this point.

Yours looks pretty great. The one small critique I’d give is that I think she’d have problems bringing value to fights where she doesn’t ult.
