I’m alright with mcree. Yes, he is OP. But there are also no other alternatives to him, because of how harshly everything’s been nerfed.
Well out of you and me, i am the only person here, who clearly have been in GM since season 1.
Mccree is used in high rank cause he is reliable, consistent, has CC to counter things and is bursty (to counter the powercreeped healing, that they have just barely begun addressing). Which means he is popular (high pickrate). If he was overtuned or OP, he wouldn´t be struggling to win games. All his mirrors forces a 50% winrate, if you are below/above the average winrate (of the given rank) at a high pickrate, it automatically means, that all your none mirror matchups make up for the deficit or increase in winrate. So despite Reinhardt being in 95-97% of all games, on both sides in GM. He wins 55% of these (about 2% above the average in GM 53 ish). With all his mirror match ups taken out that means his winrate is astronomically high against other match ups. Mccree is the opposite, he is below the average, meaning his winrate against other characters is actually negative.
Deathmatch is mostly close quarters with plenty of opportunities to steal kills. It’s an environment made for McCree.
McCree’s fire rate is overtuned but using deathmatch as a metric is not a good way of going about it
I don’t even despise flash fan this much, but i think he should not be able to pull two headshots out of 1 flash, he can miss a headshot and still have time for another when he flashes someone
Reducing his fire rate to between now and the old rate would be the correct fix.

every single match is carry by this monster. he is to good on close and he is a god on mid range. the stun counter a lot of movement heros and also he is so good destroying shields and tanks… THERE IS NOT ANY REASON TO PICK OTHER DPS THAN MCCREEE. MAYBE ONLY MEI.
blizzard, controll your monster and fix BROKENCREE.
anyway if they buff mccrree, they should revert helix rocket buffs.
And Blizz has yet to tune down Moira’s damage. So why would we expect they tune down McCree’s?
today i play 4 or 5 matchs in QP and all of this match the dps are the same … Mc Cree and Mei , i think this is a signal that this hero need to be nerf
because we are triying to nerf the dmg, healing and shields powercreep.
hanzo was to strong and multirole , widow was to strong, same than reaper, mei and now they have to touch mccree… they cant continue buffing other heros.
also the owl players shows that soldier is viable when mcree and mei are banned.

Mcree is perfect the way he is. Perfectly balanced.
And Mercy is a healer, she’s supposed to be good at healing. That never stopped her from being nerf hammered into the ground did it.
So yeah, I kinda agree. McCree has a high skill ceiling, it’s true. But the skill floor is very low. I usually don’t care about these things but again and again people bring up aiming. Well, corner-peek flash hammer really doesn’t require masterful aiming.
Also, might I just point out:
Fan the hammer can really one shot you.
And there are many things that are a part of characters’ kits. Everything in their kits is part of their kits. For example, Scatter Arrow was a part of Hanzo’s kit.
I’m not saying it should be reworked, I’m saying it should be toned to be less jarring.
After all, when the community found Brigitte’s cc too jarring, the devs nerfed it to a shadow of its former self.
No, because if you nerf his flash+fan combo you would need to nerf dooms one punch, mei’s freeze+headshot, ashes dynamite+one shot, tracers close range one clip, ana’s sleep+ shoot/nade/shoot, hogs hook+shoot+melee, sigmas rock+spheres +melee, junks mine+bomb, etc etc etc…
Let’s not forget about all the other combos that kill you in the same time as mcree can kill you. You guys are lul, seriously.
By survivability, I don’t just mean more HP. It also extends into him just having more utility that allows him to survive longer.
Whether that be just having more base HP, or changes to his dodge roll (I.e a second roll, invincibility frames etc)

And maybe, just maybe, revisiting a lot of those stuff wouldn’t be such a bad idea. Many of the balance changes were made on the fly - Maybe some planning and carefully engineered balancing would be good, especially because the game still hasn’t been tuned for 2-2-2
And hey. I’ve seen characters being nerfed, harshly, with no regard to comparative power levels, counters, and the way the nerfs would affect them in the game. Way more harshly than what it would be like to somewhat… fine-tune flash hammer.
