See, and likewise I could say the same thing about you regarding this. I, and many others, still have yet to see one possibility from you, and specifically only you, regarding Mercy that doesn’t involve:

• Mass Rez
• Valkyrie being removed as the ultimate.

If you have done so in past months ever since Mercy’s most recent nerf, then by all means, feel free to prove me wrong!

I actually did have an idea that doesn’t revolve around either Mass Rez or Valkyrie being removed as the ultimate about a month and a half ago. And if you don’t believe me, then I give you this post. I may not be a dev; trust me, if I was, I’d likely be a little more transparent with ideas. However, you do need to think in the minds of the development team, even if just to an extent.

Yeah, my opinion differs from yours; I’ve seen the developer responses and I know that single Rez and Valkyrie are going to be their firm stance. However, that does not mean that I didn’t think that Mercy needed help. I was also of the belief that Mercy needed some help.

You are wrong indeed. I’ve given suggestions multiple times for solutions that don’t involve mass res or removing Valkyrie. Namely, using individual rez charges instead, which are utilized exclusively in Valk when she ults:

For a kit that focuses on Valkyrie as the Ultimate, I really like the direction you went with it.

A hybrid mode between the current GA to beam target on/off would help making Mercy a lot more fun to use. My suggestion would be that if a target is in her reticule she GA to them, but if no target is there she automatically GA to her beam target. Mobility was a priority with Mercy as I understood it.

Correct me if I’m wrong but could Mercy not do this already? Unless you mean that she would automatically GA when a target is LOS instead of the user having to press the button to initiate her first. I think would be kind of a nice QOL in the heat of battle having a sort of “pin ball” ability that allows you to auto-GA to whoever is in your line of sight for a brief amount of time the moment you heal or damage boost, but I have a feeling that’s not what you’re referring to. Correct me if I’m wrong though!

If I were to suggest one thing in terms of improvements, I think that if there is some sort of rez charge system put in place it would put more weight in the value of rezzing and when to use them. As in, if you heal a certain amount you are given a rez charge. It’s been suggested quite a bit in previous discussions, and I think it would really add a little reward to Mercy players who prioritize healing over going “battle mercy.”

And while I never doubted that you had an idea that didn’t revolve around mass res or valk (nor said as such), I believe I was correct when I assumed that you never posted that “Mercy thread cat pic meme” in Mercy threads that are against Mass Rez (and in line with your views). Am I correct in thinking that? If not, do prove me wrong there.

Also, that is correct. You are not a dev, and neither am I, and that I believe we can both agree on. Therefore, until you are one, we are both just sharing opinions about that, and I would prefer to just stick to my own with regards on “how to think like a dev” in terms of making threads and giving feedback on Mercy’s current state. But thanks for the suggestion though!

I can see the belief that you are only dwelling on the past. If you want to continue trying to create mass rez threads, that’s fine; I’m not going to go against you solely for that. But in such a case, please do not expect a member of the development team to respond in your favor, or for them to state that Mass Rez will come back. If you want to try to get a member of the development team to respond in your favor, you have to try to think in the minds of them, even if just to an extent. That does mean to try to come up with ideas that don’t revolve around Mass Rez or removing Ult Valkyrie.

Alas, as we’ve already heard though from the development team thanks to Emongg’s stream, they’ve already stated Mercy isn’t getting any type of rework. And I did make sure to at least state that in my first post in this thread.

Thanks for projecting your opinion, but unfortunately, I’m going to have to disagree. What you see as “dwelling on the past” I see as “hope for the future” in terms of Mercy’s current state. I believe that in order to moving forward with the hero, she will need to be made engaging, impactful, and rewarding to play again, and in my view, I believe the most efficient, reliable, and quickest way to go about that is to have a Revert of Mass res + The tweaks. I am not concerned with “expectation from the dev team” or “thinking in their mindset”, and past reverts of her kit is proof that they are open to bringing elements of Mercy back, that have existed in the past. I also think they will eventually be open to other alternatives to explore with the hero - which includes reverting resurrect as an ultimate.

But hey! If you disagree with that, it’s fine. We both have clearly stated where we stand on the issues, and aren’t going to be convinced on either one, so we’re going to have to just agree to disagree and leave it at that. Thanks for offering your thoughts nonetheless though!
