I know playing suicide is still a thing, indeed, it’s encouraged becuase you can undo a stupid mistake each 30 sec. Anyway, that doesn’t make up the fact that current rez makes Mercy immobile (opposite to mobile) and is unbalanceable because of how incredibly powerful that ability is.
Well, that can be fixed easily just tweaking that ult, not reverting the character back to something that never worked and was removed for good. Just make rez from respawn easily counterable and that’s it. Easy example: add cast time and LoS, make it that she can’t use her ult from respawn, and that will surely die.
Still a revert. Anyway, valk, stationary rez and current healing existed before, so the revert is real.
Well, at least she was focused on the right things instead of going dps and letting teammates to die in order to rez them. She only needed a real E ability, that’s all she needed, never this revert.
People tend to talk about revert too much I think. It’s too easy to use that word, and because of that logic I can confidently say that this so called rework is indeed a revert. Let me show you some formulas:
Bring back valk + E rez, with stationary mode once more + revert healing back to 50 hp/s + accidental bunny hop =/= revert (for some reason)
Revert defense matrix + micro missiles + firing while flying =/= revert (yeah, Dva’s role was already reverted back to fat dps but I don’t see people talking about it as if it was a revert).
Bring back mass rez as it was + no more E ability + revert the reverted healing (60 hp/s again) + remove bunny hop = revert (I think we can agree on this)
Bring back mass rez with changes + completely new E ability + revert the reverted healing (60 hp/s again) + keep the bunny hop =/= revert
Somepeople use to talk about the last formula as if that was a revert or a revert with tweaks. That’s why I can confidently say that this rework is in fact a revert, according to that logic, because we have the same designs of the past, but with few changes. In conclusion, I think the word revert is being missused.
In Mercy’s case, she can’t do anything right now but going battle Mercy and letting teammates to die in order to rez them as long as they died next to a corner, or just pocketing Widow/Pharah. The point is that the playerbase is not finding the hero enjoyable, so they are moving to other characters, but they want their favourite one fixed, something that is as fair as any other player wanting his character to be fixed. The difference in this case is that Mercy got changed in a way she didn’t need, and nobody wanted. I’ve seen some of my characters buffed/nerfed and I’ve adapted, I had no complain, but I never saw one gutted like Mercy has been. She was a support, now she is almost a dps, something that contradicts her entire character, which is what so many people love about her.
Summing up, yes, people are adapting, but the point is that Mercy is straigh bad and people want her balanced and fun, not unbalanceable (op or up, now up) and unfun.
