Hey Falcon, you know normally you seem like an alright guy. I’m not saying you’re not allowed to disagree or something man, but why are you going around to every thread I’ve seen on this and defending Blizzard? Like, it seems like you’re driven to do this.
If the 2 minutes it takes to create a twitch account is the issue they probably aren’t that interested in the skin to begin with. Also if you can’t find one person among a list of over 150 then you’re really just being picky on purpose. Sure there are people there just because they’re big names, but there are plenty of legit Overwatch creators on that list.
Imagine I tell you you need to create a tiktok account and give 15$ to a random list of people to get the skin ! And if you have already have a tiktok account, just replace it by that random social media you’ve heard of but know nothing about.
Yes I’m picky, I have my list of 5 to 10 streamers I want to give money to (and they’re not on that list), why would I want to give 15$ to someone else ?
Yeah I see no issue with that at all. Creating an account takes like a minute and you never have to use it again. Using the site that scares boomers as the example isn’t going to change my opinion.
You’re really buying the skin 1st and supporting to creator 2nd, so the reason you would give someone $15 is if you wanted the skin. I’m sorry the dude you and 2 other people watch stream wasn’t a big enough draw to warrant an invite.
If they want to create some kind of system to apply and get approved for the drops in the future rather then them selecting I think that would be better.
Then I can assure you are not normal. There’s a concept in marketing called friction
And one of the stream I watch gather 4K viewers on big events. You don’t need to be THAT troll, especially when you don’t know what you’re talking about. If at least you were right, but you keep inventing bad answers, please refrain to answer to my post in the future.
Tbh, I think people just got used to Overwatch having one of the most forgiving monetization models of any live service game in the industry.
Pretty much every skin was obtainable either through playing, or afking on a stream that’s muted/minimized.
And now people are SHOCKED at the idea of a skin in a videogame that got can only get through paying cash. Mixed in with “it’s too expensive versus the quality of the skin” and “it’s annoying to jump through some hoops to get it, if I’m paying cash.”
Creating an account is a complete non-issue that takes less then a minute and if someone is invested in the game to the point that they actually care about a specific cosmetic they’re going to do it.
There are countless reasons someone wouldn’t be included, they could be not interested in it themselves. The company might not want to be associated with someone because of something they said or did. There could be an issue in scheduling where they have to commit to a certain amount of stream time to even participate.
The current highest viewed stream for Overwatch right now is at 2k, so realistically nobody streaming this game primarily is particularly large. I’m going to stop arguing with a troll account that has only ever posted about this on the forums in every thread linking back to their own thread for attention though.
Sure bud, but at some point you have to stop complaining about the Sky being blue.
You can rage and flood the forums with negative comments about MTX but they are not going away and they are not changing.
You mean “affect” ? No, not really.
It only affects those who can’t control themselves and be hardcore “collectionists”. The rest of us see that skin, see what it needs to be done to obtain it and go “meh” and then move on.
Don’t let it live rent-free in your head. I’d easily support this approach a couple times a year. Expect more skin opportunities through other methods too, it’s a good idea.
Exactly. So tired of the “gimmeh” posts on here…
If you don’t agree with it, don’t support it. Simple as that. It’s not a bad practice, it’s a win-win-win all around, you guys just want this as another free skin.
I mean literally there is no skin of your backs on this but you spin against out of not getting free satisfaction.
Its not about OW not being successful, its about Blizzard not being rewarded for doing something they know would annoy a large chunk of people and did it anyway. They should pay a price for annoying their audience, doubly so for doing it intentionally.
