I think making rez proactive rather than reactive is overdue. If it functioned like Divine Palm (HotS) or Guardian Spirit (World of Warcraft), you eliminate this problem entirely, give the Mercy player greater skill expression, and mitigate how bad some “cheesier” rezzes feel for the enemy that just had their kill undone. I think confirmations like that should be avoided if possible
Unlike LW, Mercy has to put her life on the line for that rez. You know what a slap in the face it would be to put yourself in harm’s way just for the ally to say, no thanks bruh?
Also unlike LW, a bad Mercy rez doesn’t have the potential to ruin a big play. You were already dead, so if you die again then nothing has changed in your situation other than a slightly increased respawn time.
I don’t really see how a confirmation can work for this. Just my opinion.
Yes I’m aware, and it has substantially lower capacity to ruin a play and lose a fight than a bad LW pull. It’s not even remotely close. LW pull can ruin the current fight while also producing the same stagger in the worst case rez scenario.
Resurrect is your teammate’s skill and you don’t get to decide whether it’s used or not. Same reason why you can’t choose to be life gripped, naded, suzu’d, immortality fielded, speed boosted, harmony orbed, etc.
Honestly, yeah.
So many times do I use that time to take a sip of water, but then I just die while I’m scrambling to set it back down and not dump it everywhere, and the Mercy is probably pissed because I wasted her rez.
If she rezzes you at a very bad place/time and you just die, you give the enemy team ult charge.
I’ve been saying it should be like guardian spirit for years. Buff that lasts a few seconds and increases healing taken, but if the target takes fatal damage during the short buff they are instead revived/healed. Makes it more dynamic, proactive, fun. You could even make it so if they aren’t rezzed it has a shorter cooldown than if they are rezzed making it so mercy can use the ability more than 4 times a game.
yeah no way. Bad rezzes are way more of a troll than a bad pull. Most heroes can also cancel pull with a movement ability, or something like iceblock. I’ve seen way more bad rezzes that lead to the rezzed player and the mercy getting uber staggered, where as bad pulls usually lead to an early retreat or draw the fight out a few more seconds.
i got rezzed into an active ram ult on soldier w/ the ram getting lucio speed boosted once
i wanted to cry
ill never forget it
mochi168 if you’re out there, i still want to know why
Look, I can understand Life Grip, I can understand Nano, I can understand all of the targeted abilities that are available when I’M ALIVE… but when I’M DEAD, LET ME CONFIRM THE REZ.
If I see that I’m being rez’d? Cool I’ll be prepared especially if it’s a good positioned one, but if I know my flank failed and my dead body is stuck in the backline, just to see the pigtail pink ribbon wearing succubus go through 4 enemies who are now turning around, let me deny it!!
It messes up spawn time dying twice and my overall KDR as well, totally not fair or cool at all. Life Grip, Cleanse, and Nano does not.
