From Bahrain here and I’ve been having the same issue. I’d like to bring to devs’ attention that this issue of getting EU games instead of ME always happened whenever a new patch was pushed out but usually only lasted like a couple of hours but this time its been 12+ hours.
So basically different players from different countries had %100 packet loss. There is no way the issue from our ISP. It’s your fault for randomly moving to another server without testing it first
One of the ways to fix this problem is connect to the asia or american server from the blizzard application instead of europe. The Europe server is broken. Currently I went to my 20th game, and every time someone not their because they are using the europe server. The servers are universal even if you choose asia they will connect to the nearest. Try swapping the servers.
You will know that its working when you connect to training ground and your ping is the same as before.
All Saudi players have been complaining about this issue in Arabic on (X, Twitch, TikTok, YouTube, etc.). Most of them are unaware of this forum and lack proficiency in English.
Simply search for the keyword “سيرفرات اوفرواتش" on X or TikTok.
They believe that Blizzard permanently shut down the Middle East servers because the game now routes us to EU servers.
Blizzard, if you have an employee who knows Arabic, please ask them to translate these posts on social media for you.
Let’s not forget that no one was having issues before they changed the server. I’m not even from saudi, I play from Kenya and I used to have 100ms before the change. It was not great but was still playable. Now I have 200ms. There is only one ME server, which serves other continents like Africa. I can’t accept that it was a financial decision because there is only one server here, compared to other regions. Why are we accepting this bs. Why do we have to suffer because of their unsolicited decision which doesn’t even affect them? Apex has a server in Bahrain, COD has a server in Bahrain. It seems like you all got convinced that the issue is on your side. Don’t forget, they created the problem so they should fix it.
Yesterday, the Saudi E-League (Overwatch tournament) began, with numerous Overwatch League players taking part.
During the live Twitch stream, the commentators complained about this issue publicly, as did the players.
They encountered high ping issues, playing the tournament on EU servers with 90ms+ ping, Because Qatar servers gave them higher pings, around 140-160ms.
For months, I’ve been saying that everyone living in Saudi Arabia can’t play on the new Qatar server(gmec1), but no one believed.
