Lucio Has The Lowest Skill Floor in The Game

Remember I said Skill Floor Because Technically all you have to do is speed your team and Then Heal while there. His Healing is the easiest in the game. Boop is easy and Wall riding isn’t really hard. Lowest Skill Floor for Sure even under Moira and Reaper.

Not really because it doesn’t get you as much value.

It is still the floor

I don’t know if I’d say that but it does make me laugh when Lucio players call Mercy “low skilled” like…they both have super low skill floors and relatively high skill ceilings that are based more on movement mechanics/cooldown usage rather than actual aim.

I don’t have many hours on Lucio but I can pick him up and play him in GM with insane amounts of impact with relative ease. He’s basically just a different version of Mercy to me. I suppose there’s a reason OWL players who play Lucio are also the ones who play Mercy and vice versa. Their skillsets transfer really well across kits.

I mean, sure, if you take ‘‘skill floor’’ literally. But only using your aura and not actually knowing how to manage crossfade will net you literally no value. Moira pressing M1 all game provides more value than that

I think Junkrat has the lowest skill floor.
You can literally spin in place holding lmb an get kills.

This is a joke right?

No. He’s definitely not easier to pick up than Mercy or Moira. You’re just flat out wrong with this assessment.

Does No One Here the Word SKILL FLOOR. Not Celing. I barely play Lucio and Can Pick him Up with ease.

Generally it was because the main support role before Mercy got reworked was literally just Lucio because he and Zen made up dive. When Mercy got buffed to stronkness, they couldn’t swap out the Zen because Discord was also very stronk, so teams put their Lucio players on Mercy. Some struggled, like Dhak and Tobi, while others thrived, like Neptuno and Ark.

Generally now the main supports are defined as supports that provide buffs to their team, like Lucio speed boost or Mercy damage boost, while flex supports provide debuffs to the enemy, like Zen Discord or Ana anti, or just Moira Moira-ing. Then there’s weird supports like Bap who can be played by either the main or flex support depending on what the other support is because he doesn’t really provide consistent team buffs outside his ult, nor does he provide debuffs to the enemy team. Brig was usually played by the main support though, probably when she could still provide armour with her packs, which could be defined as a team buff.

Tobi is really good as Mercy Now. I think Neptuno Likes Mercy After that.

… I know this seems particularly targeted and nit picky… but…

are we supposed to be using this figuratively? In balance discussions?

are all the posts about “low skill floors” NOT using the definition of minimum effort and skill needed to use the character?

Yeah you’re right, his Mercy has really improved, but back in S1 his Mercy was notoriously bad, Seoul had to sign Gambler to play Mercy because Tobi’s just wasn’t cutting it.

Yeah and Neptuno likes Mercy, he even said how he wants her to be more than a DPS pocket bot, which I agree with, I do like Mercy.

I love Mercy too pep laugh. Watch Animetic Video with Neotuno and is he still in Overwatch Leauge

Good one OP; let’s not mention Mercy, Moira or Brig who have way lower skill floor.

If you can’t tell the difference between a healing bot lucio and a T500 lucio maybe you need to get better.

I am talking about bare minimum

That’s exactly what I mean. Isn’t that skill floor? Like is there some looser definition everyone’s been using I’m not aware of?

Literally this. I may not play in GM but I play around 3400-3500 and I can flex onto lucio when necessary. avoiding damage with movement, using passive health regen to heal, managing between speed and heal. It’s basically just playing Mercy, the only difference is Lucio is given the option to shoot while healing and Mercy isn’t.

It’s assumed the skill floor will give you a set value, not just being able to play someone

Otherwise we can all say widow is extremely low skill floor since picking her and just standing there can zone an entire angle. But the skill floor for widow is hitting your shots which is not very low.

Why that difference is related to skill floor or you mean skill floor to be at certain rank?..really curious.
