Losers queue is real

Nobody is going to tell me that the losers queue is not real. Go on a massive win streak, and then all of a sudden, now losing every single game. Scoreboard looks good but I understand you can’t tell based on scoreboard alone.

Game seems to give me a lot of wins to trick me into thinking i’d reach a new high rank. A couple more wins and then I’ll be at my highest rank. Game decides I didn’t win lottery and puts me with bots that forgot to turn their monitors on. DPS going 2-10, healers with more damage than healing. Tank on opposite side of map.

Losers queue is real people!! I refuse to believe any of this rank system is real and everything is calculated by the algorithm.

Its easy to logic out. For each win, the game ought to put you against a higher overall average between two teams. It thinks you are part of that average.

Turns out when you get a streak when you actually haven’t improved any is more of a fluke. You go on some high win streak, you are have been micro bumped up into a higher than normal average. Turns out you as a player weren’t actually that good, so being the weak link in the team your fluke win streak is often meant with an evitable loss streak of some kind.

Not being a better player to carry or contribute well enough, you start getting micronudged back down to where you were with each loss. The game gave you plenty of chances to make an impact, but since you went on a fluke win streak you were actually the outlier.

This is why, in comp, I’ll take a long break every 2 losses in a row. Loss streaks don’t feel nearly as bad that way, and it keeps the mental strong so that I’m not lowkey screwing myself over

This is very true, blizzard even confirmed it themselves and somehow no one made it a big deal. I honestly thought the streamers were going to use what blizzard said and make it a big deal but they didn’t which is weird.

Since 6v6 classic went live i can’t win a single game in 5v5 QP! And i won like 90% of my 6v6 classic games, literally lost only 3 or 4.

This is good stuff, there is usually a lot of garbage and coping in these threads.

It doesnt really go by streaks, every match is meant to be a 50 50

If you get a bunch of wins it can raise your mmr to the point where you dont belong so it makes you more likely to lose.

People need to remember its not perfect and only ATTEMPTING to make every match a 50 50. being a little off on the odds can look like a big difference in the match too

They’ve said literally the exact opposite though?

You were put into the losers queue friend. You will eventually break out like the rest of us. It might take some of your sanity tho. They usually last a few games after a loss streak before matchmaking decides it’s time to get the brain juice flowin

And they have slipped up more than once.
-we know a stronger player will be backfilled by bad players to keep the teams “even”.
-we know that if someone is on a losing streak the game will put him on a team that is favored to win

There was a 3rd one but can’t remember right now.

You want me on our side of the map? Say, what?

I take a break after 3 losses in a row, sometimes 2 I agree but I don’t think it’s a mental problem, the game just tries to even out my win rate I guess.

They actually said that they won’t put somebody with a losing streak modifier onto a team that is unfavoured to the point of needing consolation modifier because it makes unlucky loss streaks needlessly difficult to break. That’s not the same as putting them on a team that is given an expected modifier. All it does it avoid the consolation which leaves everything else available.

Oh no doubt there’s definitely something going on behind the scenes with matchmaking forcing that, but some of those games, that are so nearly winnable, but were lost, could’ve been won with just a slightly stronger mental in some cases, which is why I take a good break

This 100%. If you’re not getting the teammates you need to win, come back another day.

But it’s been few days… lol

It’s almost like you win a bunch
Climb to a higher rank than your actual skill

Encounter better players
Lose because you aren’t good enough to be there

But I don’t expect you to accept this because you have a fragile ego and can’t handle the truth

That’s kinda my complaint, why is the game letting me climb to an inflated MMR only to punish me and make me lose a bunch of games to correct it? That feels artificial and bad.

I understand that we may have differing perspectives on this matter. It’s important to me that we approach our conversation with respect and openness to each other’s views. Let’s try to focus on finding common ground or, at least, respectfully agree to disagree.

In one recent interview made by Spilo they mentioned one phenomenon that was pretty eye-opening. I want to explain it here (because it’s the current matchmaking thread) and hope I do it correctly.

See this illustration of the rank distribution curve:

Blue and green circles are other players, you are red.
You are at a random position in the match rank range per match. (The illustration shows you at the center but it can be anywhere. )

If you are above average rank: It will always be more likely that more players are worse than you (blue circles) and less players are better than you (green circles), within one match. That is because there just are more blue players that also satisfy the rank criterion.

So not only are players better on average in higher ranks but it is more likely that you have to be the carrying player. I assume this is especially true at the steepest point of the curve.

To my knowledge the average rank is gold 2 and the steepest section should be high plat to low diamond.

If this summary is wrong just let me know.

You made it abundantly clear you were never going to try and find common ground.
