LGBT in Overwatch Mega(y)thread šŸ³ļøā€šŸŒˆ

IDK why yā€™all decided that Vincent is/will be dead. I thought it was clear that heā€™s out there somewhere and married.

yea iā€™m not gonna drop it any more than you are.

heā€™s a supporting character. heā€™s part of jackā€™s backstoryā€¦i really canā€™t see him as anything but thatā€¦same for his husband or adopted kids or family pet or whatever.

Then Iā€™m going to ignore you, thanks. You are not going to convince me that Vincent should stay completely out of the picture, and Iā€™m not going to convince you that he should probably be used in the future.

he means dead to the story. like heā€™ll be nothing but an element of jackā€™s past. which he probably will be until the gameā€™s lore (whatever that is) is push forward past the recall and reunion shorts.

he can be used in future storiesā€¦whenever this game moves passed recallā€¦but heā€™s supportā€¦and his family is supportā€¦this ā€œoh their adopted kid could be a heroā€ is really a pipe dream.

and it should stay that way. like i keep saying the more you involve him the less reason soldier has to be soldier. until things are wrapped up a reunion between the two isnā€™t likely.

Jack being gay is wonderful. But thereā€™s not much to say about it further.

Maybe yaā€™ll can entertain me with some other LGBT headcanons.

Maybe the reason Jack is so hostile to Mccree is that heā€™s Vincentā€™s hubby.

Lol!

I read a jokey twitter post about Vincentā€™s husband being Sam, Anaā€™s ex-husband. Imagine the drama. :joy:

And I actually fully support this.

Thatā€™s what you get for wanting to play heroes, the two people you dismissed from your life are now happier than ever while you wallow in your loveless sad little lives.

I meanā€¦ I agree? I hate for him to be a throwaway character, but at this point what can happen? Blizzard have written themselves into a corner with this. To make Vincent relevant theyā€™d have to break up his marriage, make him reappear in Jackā€™s life afterā€¦ how many years? Itā€™sā€¦ yeah, itā€™s incredibly clunky.

But hey, for now Iā€™m happy we got Jack.

Lmao, Iā€™d be down for that

Itā€™d be such good Lifetime movie/soap opera fodder.

actually, iā€™d kind of like sam to be a hero tooā€¦or perhaps just more about him. so far thereā€™s been nothing other than heā€™s pharahā€™s dad, native canadian, and he has one arm.

You know that president of lumerico, hes with a dude too right or somethingā€¦ vincent? I need to scrub up on that front of the story

What makes you think that he needs to break up his marriage and reappear in Jackā€™s life to make him relevant. He can be his own character who has a past with Jack, but now is somewhere completely different. Because he is a completely blank slate, with a husband, they can do pretty much anything. Obviously he canā€™t be THE most lore relevant character, but still.

I just donā€™t want Blizzard to shy away from showcasing happy male x male moments. This was one of my biggest fears for a gay male character, that heā€™d end up being sad and lonely. And Jack definitely is allowed to be sad and lonely, but Iā€™d hope that they could justā€¦ show a little bit of the positive side too, like they did with Tracer and Emily.

His name is Miguel though, not Vincent. Miguel is Guillermoā€™sā€¦ ā€˜ā€™ partner. ā€˜ā€™

True, youā€™re right. I thought you wanted him back with Jack, specifically

Ahhh okay! It popped into my head and I couldnt for the life of me find any references! Thanks :sparkling_heart:

I love how the fact they donā€™t see all the LGBT tropes in Jackā€™s character so they claim he doesnā€™t ā€˜seemā€™ gay, too. Like, he doesnā€™t need to ā€˜seemā€™ gay to be so, but he is very very gay in design. xD
