If they plug it out mid game show an alert telling them to plug it back in and disable controller input. Thoughts? Obviously their rank and mmr should be reset and they have to climb from the ground up but there would be more ranked players.

PC already has plenty of players for ranked though, if console is having a problem with that maybe they should allow XB/Switch/PS4 crossplay for comp

That is a thing i also thought about. If you are playing with keyboard (blizz please let keyboard be used in console) you should not be able to play with players with a controler unless you and those players want to
Also, let’s just appreciate how dumb is the choice of not letting aim-assist work while playing with Pc players. Like, come on, no living being will want to play the game like that
In the developer updates they said that comp will not link Pc and console, wasn’t it?
They should actually detect those which are cheating with keyboard and mouse, and warn them once, ban them the next time.
That would have been the right thing to do from the start LIKE THEY SAID, no KB / M support from them for Console!!!
there is absolutely no way that the game would possibly be able to know if the player has a controller or KM, well besides asking the player… but people lie, its sorta what they are known for
Most console players don’t want to use a mkb. A controller is more comfortable and we aren’t set up to use a mkb in our living rooms. A mkb has an unfair advantage against a controller. It’s not fair to force us to play together. If a player wants to play with mkb users they should have got a pc. It’s not fair to ruin console players games

No one is making you play mkb, I’m suggesting that those who want to use mkb on console will have an option to play crossplay with pc players since it’s more competitive than stomping on people with controllers. They could even restrict console ranked to only controllers so people would stop complaining about mkb players.

that is certainly wrong my fellow friend. I play a lot of call of duty on console, with people on console, and i literally dont know a single soul who does not use mouse and keyboard on console when available to… Also we need to have the option, i mean, you can play with a controller on PC if you ever feel like it, not being able to do the opposite on console is at least terribly unfair
I think this is what they are doing. They said there will be two pools: Console and PC. So, I presume that means PS4 and Xbox and Switch all get thrown in together.
I find that hard to believe seeing as that is the complete opposite of any interaction I’ve had with other Xbox players on the topic.
Also there’s a huge difference between a pc player choosing to play at disadvantage. Than telling a controller based community that they all have to change or be at a disadvantage.
The problem is, kb/m is not natively supported on consoles. It’s basically a third-party hack.

Do you have console? it is natively supported… There are a lot of games that you can play with k&m on consoles… it is literally plug and play… Even more now with the PS5 and the series s/x xboxes
I really would like to see a 3rd option for competitive called „Cross Competitive“, where you can play comp with your console friends. Maybe the rule can be that you need to be in a group with at least 1 console player to queue for this competitive mode. The big problem is that Blizzard would never introduce a 3rd rank queue, cauz it would be stupid to split the comp players again in a 3rd queue. Maybe it would be a nice addition in OW2 to bring Cross Competitive into the Game when they really think to delete open queue due balancing reasons with 5v5.
I don’t want anything that messes up the match quality even more.
Jesus Christ, what is wrong with you people? They could just make separate pool for people playing with m&k (whatever platform it may be) and a pool for people playing with a controller. That is way easier than what they are trying to do. This is inexcusable.

There is not really a guaranteed way to know if someone is using K&M on consoles anyway even if it was possible.
