Leavers should end the game, at any time

Do not care if it can be abused, it makes the games so pointless to carry on, and one team gets “free SR”. It’s just stupid.

Thing is, leavers don’t even need to be an issue in Competitive as the solution to the problem already exists in other game modes - backfill.

Competitive needs backfill

Having a competitive mode without anything in place to help a team recover from a leaver/disconnect is an absolute travesty. Blizzard needs to add backfill to competitive. If someone leaves or disconnects from a match, then someone else can load in to take their place. Have a “reserves bench” system in place for if the disconnected player reconnects (thus allowing for them to avoid the leaver penalty) and give them the option to rejoin the match at the start of a new map. Backfill would not only completely solve the problem of leavers but would also help reduce queue times because you wouldn’t be dumping 11 players back into the queue when someone leaves or disconnects from a match.
