how is this still a thing. i know blizz is a small indie company, but you think at some point they would get harsher with the penalties more quickly.
hardware bans. just do it. go nuclear and actually solve the problem.
leaver scoreboard. day 1: 5 placements, 1 leaver.
day 2, 9-10 games, 3 games with leavers
day 3, 9-10 games games so far, 4 games with leavers. 3 games in a row. it basically unplayable at this point.
Itâs already unfair that people who suffer power blackouts, hardware failures, Internet service interruptions, and the like are punished for leaving when they have absolutely no control over these things.
Especially when the solution to leavers in Competitive already exists in other game modes - backfill.
It would not only fix the leaver problem but would also help lower queue times, so itâs especially baffling as to why Blizzard have not implemented this in Competitive yet.
Maybe they could remove the âleave gameâ option and can only âleaveâ if they close the game. I dunno.
Thinking about it that wonât make much difference anyway.
I donât know about comp backfilling. I wouldnât like to wait 10+ minutes to get into a nearly ended game with an almost immediate loss.
That would suck
What if you could only be placed in a comp match that has a least one minute left on the clock, and that when you join as backfill, you wonât lose any SR for a loss but will gain SR if your team wins?
Let me ask you this. How would you like to be placed in matches where your team is about to lose? Free SR loss for you. The only way I wouldnât mind backfilling is if you get placed in an in-progress match but wonât lose any SR for a loss but can gain for a win. It is extremely rare to get backfilled in a match where the team you get thrown into is dominating or winning. Sure it does happen but like I said, rarely.
wait 6 minutes to have that time wasted by joining a match to lose and be qued again in 45 seconds, no.
first ban needs to be 12 hour hardware ban. whole game. if your hardware isnt stable, or your connection isnt stable, you shouldnt be playing a competitive team game online in the first place.
blizz needs to acknowledge when their servers are the issue, and not punish people for their mistakes.
MAKE HIGH LEVEL XP PLAYERS PLAY WITH HIGH LEVEL XP PLAYERS , that means they play their main accounts and not their alts that dont care to derank if they are tilted
BACKFILLERS , we will all backfill ONCE PER WEEK RANDOMLY and you will win 100 CP POINTS for your time lost and NO SR LOSS
no. 12 hour hardware band. followed by a 24 hour, 2 day hardware ban, a season, and permanent. the first 2 can âfall offâ but never be forgotten. if you leave 2 games 3 seasons in a row, or 8 games in 5 seasons, perma hardware ban.
i used to play this game on a toaster with charter. if you crash or dc it is your fault and you still ruined the game for 5 other people.
I thought about this, and a huge problem I anticipate is that players that are legitimately new to Overwatch will find themselves getting stomped in matches by selfish smurfs. I can see if your philosophy is that itâll benefit way more players over the fewer ones thatâll suffer, but I canât help but think itâs still wrong to ruin a new playerâs comp experience. Then again, Iâm not sure if new players feel comfortable jumping into comp as soon as they hit level 25, as I personally waited a long time before trying comp for the first time.
it does by more quickly banning leavers, which removes leavers from the pool.
it also make for a much stronger deterent. the first ban is 10 minutes and the second is 20 or an hour. if you are pissed or tilted, why not leave.
what do you think hardware ban means. remove the people ruining the game. it is better off with out them. im not making a dark joke, hardware ban comp leavers. then they wont be here to continue to ruin games. it is a viable solution.
