Sporadically throughout gameplay my custom key bindings are resetting. Usually the issue fixes itself once I start a new game. I have tried resetting all my controls to their defaults for each hero and then setting the custom controls again.
This issue has been occurring for about a month now and is getting worse and worse. It happens almost every match now and is making the game almost unplayable. Upon Googling this issue I have found numerous other bug reports regarding this and none of them have solutions from Blizzard.
@idocrase, yes I have checked in hero settings. It most frequently is occurring when I don’t change heros at all. Ill play Mercy for 5 games in a row and it randomly will change my key bindings mid game while playing her.
Best solution I have found so far is to leave the default key bindings and bind my mouse buttons to those default keys. Works for somethings but this issue should be resolved.
Just logging in to say i experience the same. It randomly switches back to default settings. Even if i go into the controls menu it shiws the correct keys, but in reality it uses the default setup (or previous keys so to say). Realky annoying when your push to talk revert to social menu mid game.
Has nothing todo with character switching, i can play 1 char whole game and get it. I even get it in the same life sometimes

Im having the same problem. My scoreboard will switch and my push to talk will aswell
There have been people complaining about this since 2016 how has it not been adressed?
Really makes the game hard to play cause it happens to my healing button and ult charge aswell
This started happening to me; completely unplayable trash. Sometimes it happens when dying, switching heroes or worst of all bringing up the communication menu.
They still havent fixed this issue??? Is there a way to actually get the devs to fix this? For me the keybind can change within a couple of seconds- like I hit the key I set to toggle mute to unmute myself but I have to reach all the way over to M to mute myself again because the keybinds have reset mid callout. Also sometimes my communication wheel reverts to default so I can’t use any helpful comms for people not in VC.
Edit: The communication wheel was just becuase I screwed up hero specific settings (Its so strange how that works) but the keybinds are still wacky)
Just hopping in to say I’m having the same issue (in 2025 ). This has been happening to me for years but I’m hoping more engagement with these forums will get the dev’s attention in some capacity
yea i have settings getting reset on pharah. sometimes its inbetween rounds or even spectating a pharah. Makes no sense, i have never had a problem on any other hero.
