Well she got it wrong anyway. Jeff said IF they were to implement a change like this, which insinuates they don’t plan on it since they would have added the cool down changes from the start.
RIP.
When Moira gets flanked she will have less damage (secondary and damage orb) and less survivability. Genji will be stronger than before despite the nerf.
Yikes, so we’ll be killing Moira’s survivability tool in exchange for “potentially” good utility?
Goodbye moira, was nice knowing you.
I don’t trust them to give Moira compensation buffs for giving fade longer cooldown. Orb change and Primary change are direct nerfs for consistent damage and resource regen and Fade gets a longer cd too, so it’s -survivability.
One second invulnerability is not going to cut it.
This is exactly the change I was afraid they would do. Just scrap the whole thing already.
Pass. Just let these changes die, then. I don’t care what anyone says, as a regular player Moira already has her place in the game for me.
I go Moira when I’m struggling to stay alive due to lack of help and awareness from my team. I am not interested in sacrificing my best option for survivability as support hero for an ability that I have to use for a team that won’t help me. Nope.
I’ll never understand why they never iterate on changes in experimental. Remove the immunity aspect altogether (why even add this?), or make it so Moira has to fade THROUGH allies to cleanse them.
But nerfing the cooldown? Not an option. Just leave it alone and give cleanse to a new support hero in OW2.
If I go Moira, I want to survive more, especially against flankers, while still healing a lot.
Cooldown change will harm our survivability directly and makes picking moira counterproductive.
If I wanted to ditch survivability in favour of… team wide immunity button, I would just go baptiste.
Rather not have another Baptiste. I want to play Moira and have self-survivability and not sacrifice that so my team MAY be able to survive one second longer if stars align.
According to Naeri, the information was already given before Stylosa’s question but Stylosa got further confirmation. This could be a loss of translation though, Naeri isn’t a native speaker.
It’s almost like they are trying to balance Moira’s fade ability cause they overlooked the cooldown rate on it.
Fade in its current form on the experimental card is undeniably the strongest ability in the game. The impact that you can have on fights with her new fade is tremendous! and all that on a mere 6 second cooldown.
I’m sure this last experimental took everyone by surprise as they actually nerfed Genji and changed Moira without running her over with a train of nerfs.
I think the balance team might surprise us again with the compensation for these new changes. Because, to be fair, they are raising her skill ceiling kind of quickly
But we shouldn’t have new additional utility come in the way of character core design.
Moira is supposed to be slippery and capable of surviving in the brawl. That’s what she’s made to do. Cooldown change will directly inhibit that.
I understand that low cooldown fade with this utility would be kind of strong. But that’s why we should not implement it, it takes too much away from fade’s original purpose. An escape tool. She no longer has as much survivability as she used to and cooldown change would cripple her.
This change would just made her a pseudo-lamp on lower cd, instead of self-survivability. And she probably would not survive to save her fade cooldown for when her teammates could use it.
Who are you to say what Moira is supposed to be? you didn’t design the hero. You had no word in anything when it came to designing her kit and how she is supposed to play like.
I won’t argue as to whether a cooldown increase is going to fix everything with her new fade. Honestly, I have my doubts myself. Having a long cooldown on an escape ability really doesn’t sound great.
But we’ll see how that is going to turn out once we get there.
I don’t think they would increase it that high. Doubling the cooldown just because of 1s of invuln is silly. It should be 8 seconds, but no more than 10.
