Moira isn’t a dev or community favorite so I’ll admit it’s unlikely she’ll be cared to not be overnerfed. But I do feel like the devs are really trying here and they’re getting it rough from both sides trying to give the community exactly what they asked for:

A harder and more mechanically taxing Moira with utility.

There, if nothing else, is some care into this experimental. Therefore, I do hold some doubt that she’ll be left to die if the changes go through.

most streamer + GM + top 500, and alot of pro varies from tank support and dps player giving their reaction

they all said with these power it would need atleast 12 up to 30 sec cd (30 sec was outrageous tbh)

some top 500 moira player said he dont want it because while its strong but in order to balance it needs to be 15 sec cd

Completely changing the character design so fade will no longer be an escape tool instead of a teamwide utility tool completely goes against the core designs of moira:

  1. survivability
  2. quick escape tools
  3. Duelist
  4. Sustain

Which can be found from all aspects of her kit.

I’m not saying that I designed the hero or that they aren’t allowed to change their hero, I am saying that what they are going for is counterproductive to the way moira is currently played and what purpose she was designed for (not being easy target to dive with quick escape options and sustain). Anybody can see those design choices and, her niche and what moira gameplay looks like.

I am saying that going through with these changes will alienate those people playing Moira if she becomes another version of Baptiste instead of the self-sufficient character we like to play as. And they serve to make her a whole lot worse than on live version.

Or may I say goodbye Moira overall? I don’t want to have yet another stationary healer.

Ehhh… Sometimes I’m glad I ditched this game. Too bad I keep hoping things might get better. Stupid me

What’s the point of having fade as mobility if we’re not allowed to use it as mobility but we need to become a pseudo-lamp?

Might as well go baptiste at that point.

even jeff said these was just crazy experiment that he was unsure of

by the word “crazy and unsure” it means there very little chance they are going to implement it

they probably just testing if everyone like it or not and consider after
but from the feedback most pro dont like it
most moira mains dont like it
and people who like it asking it for 12-15 sec cd, which most moira player dont like it

  • Fade cooldown nerfed from 6 seconds to 7

  • Invincibility starts from the initial fade

  • Invincibility range reduced to 4 meters

  • Invincibility duration reduced to 0.8 seconds

  • Fade maximum distance buffed from 15meters to 17meters

  • Biotic grasp healing buffed from 20 hps (self) to 25hps

  • No changes to biotic orb (damage)

I would rather try changes something akin to this, rather than straight up nerf Moira’s fade a lot to make room for utility.

We wanted utility yes, but not at the cost of self-sufficiency or mobility.

Fade utility would be a wonderful addition yes and I would love to cleanse my allies from anti-heal, dynamite, gravity flux, freeze etc etc. Anti-heal especially needs more counters.

But at what cost? So I can die far more often on the field? So I walk back from spawn far slower? So I can’t reposition as often? So I can’t escape as often when being gunned down?

It’s too costly.

utility has a value attached to it, a price needs to be paid in order to add utility on a character and I’m pretty sure you wouldn’t happy no matter what

And Moira was last seen meta during the first era of doubleshield, it’s not like she’s been very meta either.

she has been incredibly relevant nerf after nerf, people hate her for a reason, she reached a balanced state recently with the orb changes but they wanted to push the utility side on her, she needs nerfs in order to accomodate that, other character’s balance has nothing to do with the specifics related to Moira, you are not a dev, you do not know what is good for the game and most certainly you aren’t able to have a healthy unbiased discussion about this character

If people here genuinely think even with a small cooldown increase that this ability will be fine, they have to be actually trolling or doesnt know how to play the game nor anything about the game, etc. And tells why they cant take the forums seriously when it’s the matter of balancing.
The ability is still broken regardless if they increased it or not.

I swear the only thing that’s gonna fade will be the rest of the playerbase if the rework goes live.

Moira has been incredibly irrelevant after doublebarrier, idk what you’re even talking about.

Ana has been better than Moira in gold and up for longer than half a year.

If you had been actually reading, you’d see that we’re just not willing to swap additional utility that will be a mixed-bag outside of cleansing options for massive nerf in super important, self-survival cooldown for her. Alongside the other nerfs.

Nobody here is saying that fade with immortality on 6 second cd is actually balanced.

Eh, i guess it depends on where. If it’s enclosed space, you probably will murder that flanker.

They need to push it to experimental if they mess with it. It’s such a large, dramatic change it needs further work and testing.

The Lee are 2 parts to take into consideration: a cool down nerf and other balance changes .

After playing on experimental I’d like to see the following:

  • Team Fade effect duration reduced to .7a

  • Fade cooldown increased to 8s

  • Team Fade effect is now a 6m aura around Moira instead of an applied effect on each team mate.

This makes the timing and positioning requires a bit more intensive without gutting her having to decide whether to save Fade for herself or her team.

That part - the decision on its use falls right in line with the core concept of Moira - give and take.

Promote people like this and Stylosa and shun the toxic man-children streamers, yes.
