You’re asking why McCree’s right click does the damage it does, and it’s because he takes up 1 of 2 DPS slots.
While one other dps either ends up focusing on flanking, long range sniping, or close range battles, McCree had to be useful in breaking barriers if he ends up being the only one shooting the shield, since he can’t just fly up to high ground to immediately get to a better vantage point to bypass the enemy barriers.
McCree’s only options to dealing with barriers is to either shoot the barrier to get clear line-of-sight on the enemies after they break or waste time with slowly flanking, while the enemy team takes the numbers advantage to kill the teammates while McCree is trying to flank around with his walking speed.
I love how we aren’t even denying at this point her supposed counter isn’t even her counter. Although I will say Torb is probably her worst match up.
He needs to get a proper nerf, and ideally one with no compensation buffs that raise his power level even more. This mess we’re in is because they give him a slight nerf + big compensation buffs.
I took a break from competitive because I’m tired of McCree in every game. It’s stale and I just want to be able to do something other than “oh no we’re losing, someone go McCree” every game.
Like, for the love of God I’m tired of cowboy simulator v2. I want a McCree-free match. Just one. JUST, ONE. Even on Experimental Cards, people are instalocking him. You can’t get away from him no matter which mode you play. And since devs don’t find balance suggestions helpful, then they can just take this bit of info: he does too much at close-range and mid-range. He should have one effective range, not two. He cannot be deadly and brawly at both.
He shouldn’t have reload-on-roll - it gives him 12 shots in a very small amount of time, enough to kill any tank pretty much (i.e. too much burst damage).
I’d also like to see a 1 or 2 second CD on FTH which would not impact his squishy killing power but would stop him destroying tanks so easily and give shields a bit more uptime, especially the non-rein ones which he destroys as soon as they go up.
He could keep his health if they reduce his burst. These would not impact his mid-range damage nor his close-range on non-tanks.

I would revert McCree’s flashbang, roll, health, and reload buffs.
But I would revert his firerate nerf as well.
Players already said no to Machinegun McCree. They also said no to ThiccCree. They also said no to McSniper. They also said no to quick reload Cree. Unfortunately, they ALSO ALSO said no to Flash n’ Fan McCree.

Doom and Genji players are always upset about something with their character. If any one can counter them, they instantly go to wanting nerfs for them.
