It's Official! Bots will be added in Quick Play!

No, bots can aim. And that’s why people are in bronze from what I’ve seen. And you can get away with not having aim in bronze because everyone is oblivious to what is happening around them. Bronze is literally just 1v1s everywhere. No clue what a team is. Not only can bots aim, but they know to stay grouped.

Now add an actual tutorial and in-game stats/interactions so you aren’t required to read a bible’s worth of Overwatch info on the wiki

it’s like they somehow realized frustration is curbed by… not being challenged. we’re truly reaching the “free dopamine” level of gaming.

I understand it BUT i don’t agree with it

Im an old school player where there was usually NO ranking system and IF there was a ranking system, it wouldn’t wait to try and get evenly matched players…it would grab WHOEVER is online…like if there is only 5 people online and 4 are GM players and one bronze than thats too bad so sad

Online competitive games nowadays are about holding ur hand and singing kumboyah or however u spell that

I mean, paladins also did this but idk how much it actually helps in the long run because players don’t act like bots… usually.

They’ll just have games where they are stomping and then get their teeth kicked in when they suddenly face real palyers. All this really does help with is that initial retention so the new players don’t immediately go “this game is bs” when they get flashed banged by abilities and quit.

Holy crap! SnowManMan11 was right! :exploding_head:

Ive played with the bots. They are awful! At least only new players will experience them. :flushed:

What i thought were strange clunky movement players with hacking aimbot type aim migt have been a new form of AI…maybe u arent reporting an actual player lol

another overwatch 1 feature came back and they try to pass it as new

Sounds like an improvement to me. The bots only my team might actually be able to hit something

i have found bots in ranked some times, my team was full of humans and the enemy team had only 1

Who is praising slop from netease? That first requires netease to have slop in the first place… which right now, compared to rivals, ow is the slop… infested with cheaters… no character safe from being gutted, while never actually addressing the underlying issues… you are trying to call gold (mr) poop by comparing it to actual poop (ow) and your logic isnt logicing

but rivals graphics, movement, experience of
playing the scenarios, the game play… its really bad imo i found it horrible. i dont know how people play let alone spruik it :man_shrugging:

cant deny ow queues and mm have issues but the game itself plays well, works well and looks good.

Are they trying to supplement the diminishing player base with bots? That’s how I’m reading this. I hope I’m wrong.

If players want to practice against bots, there’s a mode for that. They don’t need to be in QP.

But then, I guess they’re already here. :pensive:

Im guessing its to prevent PvP stomps. If a Human team stomps a newbie Human team, thats discouraging. But if a newbie Human team stomps a bot team, no harm.

But the whole thing is weird because of Vs AI which already has this!

Highly unlikely that it will extend to the rest of the playerbase. It’s not needed and will degrade match quality even further. But for new players, it’s fine. Gives them an opportunity to get used to the game without sweaty edgelords calling them garbage for not being able to play at their level.

What, you’re just going to pretend people haven’t been just ignoring the fact that Rivals uses bot-lobbies to keep losing players engaged? In fact they haven’t just been ignoring it, they’ve been defending it for the last month. “If you don’t want to play against bots, go play competitive!” has been repeated ad-nauseum for the last month.

Go on, say it hasn’t happened. I dare you.

This is a good change (i meant giving bots to new players).

This would help out newbs in getting to understand part of the game - there is very little learning when you go out and get sent to respawn seconds later and watch killcam more than you are in the fights.

Well atm its only for newbies. I am guessing what they are doing is they might have noticed most new players do not play the practice vs bots, so they are simply merging that setup into QP first few games.

That would reduce clutter and make it easier overall.

OW community: Hope blizzard learns their place, hope they adapt, hope they learn stuff of MR on how to do things

Blizzard: learns how to address part of loss streak frustuations by using bots

OW community: surprised pikachu face O.O

Heck yeah, I would love a match like that. I wonder if I could keep it going for several hours?

Out of all my time playing MR, I had exactly 1 match that I new without a doubt was fishy and later confirmed bot matches did exist. Every since I’ve been on the lookout for it and have not run into it at all since. It took a relatively long loss streak with a group to obtain it.

While bot matches within MR exist, they is a rather hardline for receiving them. Even on loss streaks. Bots in OW if done correctly would be reserved for like rather awful times.
