I have in the past 2 weeks consistently encountered some of the worst teammates I have ever seen. Like I’m not joking one of these matches I check the scoreboard halfway through I’m at 7500 damage and the rest of the team is at under 2500 damage and under 2000 healing. I played 4 matches yesterday and I’m not sure if I got healed 1000 hp in total across all of those matches. It is not a matter of bad teammates, it is a matter of some of the worst teammates I have ever had several matches in a row. I think them using bots to have finer control over the forced 50/50 is the only reasonable explanation
Update:
here’s another oddity I noticed. I played exactly two games of cosmic crisis, and in both of them the good team threw by a moira ignoring their team at the exact same part of the mission to take the battery back without waiting for the person with the slow battery. It’s very suspicious

Maybe i seen that too. Never seen this sort happening in OW1. Maybe they should add captcha when joining a match.

Yes, some of the worst teammates I’ve ever seen over and over and over.
I had a match recently where no one on my team ever looked at any of my pings even once. I pinged flanking enemies multiple times and not once did they ever turn around.
In the end we lost because they absolutely refused to pay attention to a Genji hiding in a backroom that I pinged around 30 times. I even revealed him with scan arrow 2 separate times all while pinging him.
He engaged me and I kept pinging him and used the “help” voiceline and they STILL would not turn around. Genji killed me and then someone on my team used “thanks!”, sarcastically insulting me over me dying, and because they were now a 4v5 they lost.
I even tried talking to these people in teamchat and they never once responded. They were just on autopilot the entire match and none of them played as a team.

Some games you get people who look like they are making use of their full kit and movement, sometimes well, sometimes not.
And then you get games with people who look like they are playing with the D-Pad on the N64 controller. it’s wild.

I think its just brand-new players. I played this one match yesterday, the Tank was obviously a newbie. Our teammates were pretty good but she did not have good Tanking skills. But she got better in the last round.
It feels like the Matchmaker is teaming veterans with brand-new players for some of the QP matches.

Human bots, OP. They exist and they’re in our OW games.

I swear I ran into a bot widow two days ago on junker town. She would walk to a sightline and then just sit there. If she misses, she just stood there, shoot her back, she would still sit there.
There were no signs of intelligent life.

Holy crap, youre right!
I had 2 Tanks on a QP match I just played. They both had very simple, short lowercase names. And their gameplay looked strange. Like, they seemed more mechanical. Usually I can tell a little bit about a players personality from playing with them. But these two Tanks, i couldnt sense their personalities at all. At the end of match, all they said was “gg”. The bare minimum.
I think this is Pre-Trial #2 for 6v6! Imagine playing 6v6 but theres a Tank Bot on each team. It would basically be 5v5 but AI-assisted. If they did it secretly and with believable gameplay, no one would even notice. (Or would they!

It genuinely wouldn’t surprise me if they were filling QP with AI with how some player’s are

I swear after the OW space event with the bot DF, I had games where I swear DFs would play just like the bot. I wouldn’t put it past them to already fill some games with a bot. They would put the bot on the team “favored to win” in an attempt to “balance out” the mm, this helps the queue time problems but it would create terrible matches (which already aren’t uncommon) and nobody would be able to tell for sure.
There’s been times where someone seems to know their character but interacts with the rest of the game like an ai or bot would, not like someone who is genuinely bad or new at the game would. IYKYK type of stuff that’s odd.
My tinfoil hat theory is that they’ve been putting bots in matches for a while to fight against the “queue time” issues (and possibly inflate the player count) but since bots are bots, that’s a reason games generally feel worse altogether, despite the constant claims of “fixing” problems with the mm (which apparently keeps getting improved, yet it never actually seems to improve).
It would also explain the odd and seemingly random balancing decisions along with them not releasing official stats. They don’t really know how to balance the game and they can’t release the stats because they know there’s bots who are also feeding into them. Their main goal is keeping queue times low so they can sell skins, adding bots to help out isn’t far-fetched at all.

I just cant believe it…
Just played another game, I swear I was the only Human in the whole match. I was watching from afar as they battled it out on the Payload. Very AI-like. Predictable behaviour. Im convinced, bots are here
This is depressing. The scary thing is Microsoft is very AI-friendly. So MS could have just helped Blizzard make these smarter AI bots and put them into the game…
This is not good…

What you are witnessing is players that are acting like bots…
Its called “gamer auto pilot syndrome”.
You see… when games have one-sided stomps. Savvy gamers that intend to play a long session understand that putting “your” brain on autopilot is the only way to get through bad matches.
Leaver penalties exist - So…
people put the brain on auto pilot, feed and hope that the other 1 or 2 hold-outs in the match give up so the match ends sooner.
Stereo typical dialogue:
“You can at least try” ™ …
most ask “why?” though. because Blizzard isn’t trying…
two-way streets exist.
If they do not try, than why should anyone else?
“Well because they should”.
"It don’t work like that. I will report it. "
Go ahead, not like it solves anything.
Yes it does… they will ban them…
Thats Nice, but it doesn’t solve for the match you are currently in.
Nah, you probably haven’t seen it for yourself yet.
If you play the game enough or just pve and pvp games, you know the difference.
People are bad and do play poorly in the game but this is different. It’s exactly how the bots play in the bot modes.
It’s not like the tech and even the application of it doesn’t already exist within the game.
It’s like in MVS when people started calling out PFG for matching people with bots (after a few losses) that they tried to pass off as real players. People can tell the difference between a bad bot-like player and a bot. Thinking about it, it would not be surprising at all tbh.

Unless I’m mistaken, Australia; I just saw a forumer who IIRC happens to be from there make a thread about it earlier. Keep in mind that it’s spring in the southern hemisphere right now

I’m pretty sure I saw a Mercy bot on the enemy team last week. She didn’t heal or boost and was in odd spots on the map.
I assume they are just really bad at the video game. It happens! Hopefully they are having fun or something, because I am certainly not.
