“It’s just quick play” is generally what people say when someone is getting really toxic and raging and generally getting way too worked up about what is a more casual game mode. Banning people simply for getting too scattered … yeah no, that’s just not reasonable. And if anything it’s negativity that really kills team cohesion in my experience.
This is ridiculous, let people play who they want and you can play whoever you want. Stop being a qp warrior, people like you is what’s wrong with qp not people playing what they want to.
This isn’t about picking what you want to play.
This is about it being “just quickplay”.
This somehow went from a discussion of overly cavalier quickplay to discussion of character selection.
To reply to your actual post. I personally believe that quickplay is a place to relax (Not throw… but not try my hardest like in comp) In myyy opinion… Quickplay is where people go to practice heros they want to eventually play in comp OR to explore maps/have fun (Fun being extremely lacking in comp right now) There is a reason comp has rewards and quickplay does not, quickplay is meant for practice and playing with friends on a casual basis.
As someone who plays aloooot of comp, I can tell you my quickplay games are purely for practicing dps or just having fun. I still try, but no where near my comp level. Though I do enjoy my mystery heros, so you’ll only find me in QP if my friends are on lol.
The punishment of “It’s just QP” is that player losing the match regardless how they feel. They can keep with that logic all they want, but in the end that influences players to bring that same logic to comp. You are what you eat / You are your own product.
Play whatever you want in qp. If 5 dps isn’t working and nobody wants to swap then just make it work. Teamwork trumps everything even team composition. You’d be surprised how many qp games I’ve won with 6 dps against teams running 2-2-2 or another meta comp just because we worked together.
uhmmm… no… I play quickplay casually… Because it is quickplay. I play comp seriously. Because it is comp…They are very different things. You don’t go into comp playing all willy nilly just because that’s how you play your casual QP games with your friends.
it is you can report them for lack of teamwork among other things because they are not giving 100% nor trying to win
Form a team. That IS the answer here. You are playing a game mode which puts you in a team of randoms, and then you are upset at the randoms you were put in with.
Friend some people who think like you, and go play.
Another thing that people are forgetting, is QP goes on your stats still in a way. Especially on app/websites like Oversumo or Master Overwatch. There are people out there that look at your stats for all gamemodes, not just comp. Its what got me into making an OW discord, so that you have a team that will be fun to play with, and won’t have to worry about toxicity in QP. Not because of the excuse “It’s just QP,” but so that you can have fun, and still be happy knowing your team is still playing the generally, intended way OW is supposed to be. That being a team.
Screwing around in OW, is basically Arcade (sort of due to the 9/9 wins for the lootboxes every week), but definitely custom games. They weren’t just thrown into the game for no reason, yet I see a lot of people not noticing this.
Yeah I hear ya, but don’t be very naive about it. I have witness players bringing that toxicity logic to comp which is why I call comp QP 2.0.
I’m one of these it’s just QP people
Nothing is going to stop me from picking who I want to pick unless it’s been picked
I know I’m picking hanzo as the 6th man with no tank or healer
There is nothing you can say or do that will make me change and I don’t care what anyone else is playing 6 dps is standard to me
I only use QP to play the hero i feel like playing then flex all day in comp
This will always happen, if you want the more serious game mode play comp
Actually this works for Arcade too. Overwatch doesn’t want people ruining everyone else’s experience. Period. I know as I’ve been on both ends (and trying to not get on Jeff’s bad side again… his piledrivers are nasty.)
You make the presumption I have friends. You are, sadly, incorrect.
To be honest that is no excuse for people being toxic jerks or not even playing the match. You’re just blaming the victim at this point.
Thank you for exemplifying why Blizzard needs to formally penalize players like you.
While I would agree, that’s the type of reaction someone like that is looking for.
first of all, the creator of the thread just went off topic. plz follow your thread.
"This somehow went from a discussion of overly cavalier quickplay to discussion of character selection."
second of all, playing 6 dps won’t be the end of the world. there is a likely chance that you’re gonna vs a team with 6 dps. what are you gonna do? report the other team?
"…I don’t care…"
That’s the fundamental problem, not the 6dps
