Well yeah, that’s what I’m saying. I just don’t buy the argument, that as a game, that TF2 is all that dated. Definitely more polished than a lot of new releases. Just looks old.

Sorry, I just doubt that if TF2 is too old to play for you.
I just tried again to play for a week, maybe 30-40 matches. This game just REALLY REALLY sucks now. I’ve uninstalled again and there is probably nothing that will ever bring this game back to life. If you’re not pro diamond streamer, it’s not a game for you, period.

TF2 will never be old, hell runescape is thriving just fine and it looks like garbage but plays well if you know how to play it.
It just needs better marketing and slight tweaks. Also more attention to hackers and it should be golden.

It’s not that it’s too old.
But my main FPS was the original Quake. And I played Team Fortress on THAT.
Then I played a bit of the “improved” version on the Half-Life engine.
I played very little of TF2 because it was basically the same 
as half-life Team Fortress but with better character models. But they made little changes that were just kinda annoying.
But, in terms of dated… it is just stiff… like all the old FPS of that time frame.
I liked Unreal Tournament, I like Apex Legends (although I’m awful at it and don’t like BR).
BUT I just like hyper mobility shooters. Which apparently are not all that popular these days. The new Quake is a decent game, the new generation simply nopes out on it because it’s too hard.
Then you get nerf herders here going after mobility heroes any charge they get.
I know what I like. It just unfortunately is not so mainstream anymore.
If Apex Legends had a decent control map / death match instead of BR , I would play that a lot more.
I just find this take wildly out of touch given that OW has some of the sloppiest aim mechanics in the industry.
I agree with you there, brother. BR has hurt a lot of games whose gunplay is great.

Yeah, we’ve got the same 10 people defending Blizzard who speak on behalf of the entire player base.
What’s more, is they seem to think they hold some kind of authority on all matters.
TF2 really does need a new engine tho.
Deep Rock Galactic has spoiled me cause that game plays great and the lighting system in the engine is beautiful. Great art style as well. It also has turrets to it’s not too far off from TF style gameplay.
TF2 just needs some modern work done to it while keeping the same vibes. New engine, new models with similar art but more refined, rework the levels just a bit, tweak the guns (maybe do what OW did and have every class have its own unique weapons and not the same shotguns and pistols), do what custom servers did and up the player count officially to 32, more options to customize your hero and BAM it would be the next best team base shooting to have stupid fun.

Uh huh. The same doomers that quit the forums because they were too embarrassed to show themselves after being proven wrong time and time again. Remember when 90% of them said this game will be dead in 2 months max? Where are they now? Oh, right…

Does that label me as a “doomer” cause we point out flaws in the game? The company is making similar mistakes that have tanked others games i.e. servers are gone and we are just being vocal about it so other’s see why the game doesn’t feel right.
The best example of what I’m doing is what Red Letter Media did with the Star Wars review. You didn’t like but you didn’t know WHY. They did this for me with Indiana Jones and the Crystal Skull. I saw it and felt dumb for watching it but I couldn’r pin point as to why it made me feel dumb until they pointed out key scenes and how it doesn’t work or fit or done so bad.
The ones youre talking about ‘want’ the game to die cause they don’t like it. I’m ‘seeing’ the game slowly sink and the devs are doing nothing to solve it, I’m reporting on the sinking in progress.
I’m not a fan of RTX (I own a 3060 Ti) and it’s taxing for an effect that looks cool to some but tanks FPS. That’s just me tho.

No, definitely not. Doomers are people who complain about the game for the sake of complaining about it. There were tons of people like that around a month or two before the release of OW2. They were constantly posting threads about the game being “dead on arrival” and that their “perfect game” is being “ruined”. I have nothing against constructive criticism. I just hate people who keep posting the same thing over and over without making any real points.

Yeah speculating on something that hasn’t released is fine but saying it’s dead before it’s launched is top tier neckbeard status.
Again to others reading, I’m watching history happen and it’s funny seeing things that could help the game just get tossed out the window lol
Still can’t get over the fact that DICE was forced to abandon Battlefront 2 for this train wreck of a Battlefield game. I’m pretty sure even BF5 did better despite its’ numerous pre launch controversies.
Money talks and the wrong people taking over these AAA companies are running it. They ditched it cause it wasn’t making Fortnite and Apex money, that’s 100% the reason. The game devs that actually have a passion for games don’t just abandon a working game.
These suits have never played a game in the last 10 years of their life and some have never played them at all. They saw how popular fortnite was and how much their kids loved it so they wanted that clone and f’d everything up by trying to make it Battlefield: Fortnite (lots of devs admitted this was the vision from the start).
BF2042 is a mess cause they had to recode the Battle Royale style gameplay and duct tape it to play like BF. It’s embarrassing.
5v5 is fun to me and I hope they don’t revert back to 6v6.
Don’t think your judgment that most people agree with you on 6v6 being better is accurate

Just reminding you how correct I am.
