Literally trying to impose the “you are bad, repent” cultist crap I explicitly called out.
I got Diamond with Mai, for giggles, I tried to play Soldier, now it’s 2400. lol Everyone else is like, that sucks dude… I’m like, nah this is amazing, I can prove out how skilled I am on a hero, I will move that SR up. It’s a personal challenge because I am not emotionally bound by SR.
The only time I care about SR is when I am trying to play ranked with my teammates who are around 3.8K. I want to always be in 500 range of them since they are better players than me. I came from Xbox to PC, so mechanically, I still have a ways to go. My DPS player is 58% accuracy with Soldier, I’m 38%. That’s a huge difference.
Okay I just give up, stay stuck please i don’t want that attitude in my games
You are bad. Most top 500 players are bad. If they hop into OWL, they’d be destroyed. Even OWL teams are bad, and get destroyed by other OWL teams.
Bad is relative. You are bad compared to me, but a god compared to bronze. What is wrong with being bad? Nothing. What is wrong with not accepting your bad? You become a victim, because it’s always someone else’s fault. That rings true in OW as it does in your personal life. People who blame others are almost always less successful.
Go read the book, “You win in the locker room first” because NFL teams discuss how mentality makes or breaks a team. You’re negative perspective will hold you back in life. You can say whatever you want to me, but ultimately, it’s you that pays for it. Even if you make yourself feel right.
You made that up. Scroll up and read. I’ve never said the system is rigged against me. I’m agreeing with the premise of the original post in this thread, that it is almost impossible to climb through low ELO right now. I have listed reasons why, and they have nothing to do with “rigging” or being a “victim” or whatever. It comes down to a lot of trollish people with a lot of alt accounts griefing the queue, particularly during the hours I’m available to play. Change my availability, ban the griefers, improve the anti-cheat, crack down hard on boosting, and watch what happens next.
SR means nothing right now in terms of skill variance. It’s more noise than signal.
No I am not.
I’ve provided compelling, convincing, credible evidence to show that I’m an objectively more skilled player than my SR suggests. I’ve also provided reasonable explanations as to why this is.
Believing that you are “bad” is being toxic to yourself. No one is perfect and everyone could improve in some way, but improving performance does not necessarily yield results. The best Java developer in the world is almost certainly not the highest paid. The richest author in the world is not objectively the best literary mind. The highest-grossing movie of the year is certainly not the best. You can eat healthy and exercise and still get cancer. You can be in the top 20% of Moiras and have a really hard time getting out of Gold. That doesn’t make someone “bad.” It doesn’t make anyone a “victim.” We can improve the system so that it’s more fair and accurate.
So what you’re saying is, people that can earn higher elo, tend to win in lower elos? Almost like, knowing how and playing better are how you move up in SR? Must be why throwing parties exist since getting that low is impossible if they just play even half heartedly? … hmmmm… maybe you’re proving our point for us.
IMO, if valour has a problem its this same problem. he is going DPS moira way too much and it is reflected in his kdr.
probably yeah, since aim is one of my force, i tend to play more baptiste, ana and zen but man i can’t play like ml7 i suppose so now i’m playing more safely, trying to keep my death below 5/10min, and forcing myself to not dps and focus on healing my team
seriously tho, just staying alive more often can get you tou plat i’m sure
I’m saying if you swapped me out for a Moira 1000 SR above me, both of us would probably stay there. Why? Because the system doesn’t work correctly when there are too many alt accounts, and when the anti-cheat is out of date. When you can pay a hundred dollars for someone to boost you 1000 SR and not get caught, then… then yeah, SR means nothing anymore.
I’m saying that being “good” is not enough to rank you up in low ELO. In fact being “good” may make it harder to rank up because you’ll be matched against other people at your SR who are “good” and you’ll have a hard time winning. The idea that you can be sorted up the ladder strictly by playing well is kind of silly at this point.
If you’re the best java developer in the world and not being paid the most in the world, that is the fault of the Java developer for not negotiating better. Even your Moira example, they WILL get out of gold. How long it takes is irrelevant. Eating health and exercising does improve your life, and cancer has causes outside the scope of your actual health. And I can relate all these items to how improving works, but why waste my energy when you’ll ignore them.
No matter how you slice it, improving your play style will improve your SR. My coach coaches 20+ people and they all gain SR from being taught. My team consistently beats higher SR teams, even low GM teams, when we are taught.
Literally using 1 single ability at the wrong time (just 1 time) can cost you a game. There are harder teams, there are smurfs, there are throwers, but they exist at every level. They can also be on your team giving you free wins as well. But they are in fact not in every single game.
I can play my main hero on a lower Sr and lose, but there is always more I can do. It’s much harder for me to win games with my lower SR friends in my group as well, because we get an instant boost from me being there (even on off heroes), but ultimately hit a max of my carry potential and are dragged down too much by their mistakes. I start making call outs, giving them advice, and trying to get them to play differently, and we win more games. If they go back to their old play style, we start losing. Not ever game is winnable, but over a period of time (1 day, 1 week), you can move up in elo without doubt.
give me an account in 1700 and i guarantee you i’ll climb it back up, that makes no sense. As a DPS main, i start to see a big difference at about 300sr below me
i’d say 2400 to 2750 is pretty much the same. the step from 2750 to 2800 is harder and the quality of games feels different (faster, more organised i’d say)
This is the point people are trying to make. Let’s pretend for a second that I’m a Diamond dps. My SR tanked to gold one season playing with friends. The system knows I’m a Diamond dps and will therefore pair me against enemy dps who are also Diamond dps but in gold for whatever reason. This is what is happening to people. Whether or not it happens to you doesn’t negate it’s existence.
It makes it so SR is actually irrelevant and unrelated to skill because there are tons of Diamonds/Masters/GMs playing in gold as alt accounts or smurfs. People are being paired against them and therefore cannot climb despite being better than the rank they’re in because they’re not better than the alts and smurfs they face.
not necessarily true. many of your stats are sound however your ult usage isn’t as good as you think. compare your beam kills/healing with larkwind. you have 1 more beam kill, he CRUSHES your beam healing though. his ult usage then is getting more value than yours is.
team fights come down to sustain and picks. lark is sustaining his team with his ult which likely translates to picks. you’re trying to get picks with moira as evidenced by your kdr and higher beam kills. moira chips and finishes targets well, she doesn’t solo kill well. if you’re spending time going for solo kills you’re on the wrong hero. go baptiste or zen, you’ll get a lot more value from both if you lean towards dps.
yes and they are in silver, gold, plat, diamond ! EVERYONE encounters them ! That’s not a reason for not climbing
That’s not how the SR system works. If you’re in gold, the system knows you as a gold player, not a diamond player. You’re making assumptions here to validate your point, and those assumptions are incorrect. If you go from Diamond to gold, there is a reason. For example, a diamond widow could be deranked in double shield meta with how good tanks have gotten with their rotations and placements. If you cannot play a DPS that gets quick value in that meta, you will derank. If you switch to a new DPS, you’re certainly not playing at your higher potential. All these variables play into a player losing rank. I’ve gone down from 3.3K to 2.6K in a season and was confused why that happened. Did some coaching and noticed I changed some key things that caused it. After fixing that, I won my next 18 games in a row.
Damn ! I love your attitude ahah. Do you have any tips to go from mid plat to diamond ? (I’m a hitscan, mostly ashe). I’m curious to hear your tricks
I’m a tank player so I wouldn’t have the knowledge to provide a lot of value and what might help you in that SR might hurt you in the next. If you’re interested, I can ask my coach if he wants to take on another person. He’s extremely good GM player. Amazingly patient and very positive.
Ahhhh i tought you were a DPS because in all your examples you used DPS heroes ahah. Thanks a lot but i have a couple of GM coach too I’m just a curious person and i like to hear about others story throughout the ladder we can always learn from them
Haha sorry, the examples really work for any role. I just used DPS as an example because it’s my weakest role that I play in Gold through diamond. It’s a large swing. Where Tank I can play every hero at a diamond level, and a couple at a masters level. I still have a lot to learn!
But, I’ve gotten Masters on Xbox and PC, so I’m proud of myself.
