I think this game is secretly an anime. If you really think about it and look at the characters it makes sense. All these skins and voice lines are 100% straight out of an Overwatch anime.

It wasn’t at first but since the October 4th and the heavy Japanese-oriented themes (and now collab), it’s going in the “anime” direction for sure, and it’s not to my liking at all.
I hope PVE is going to be spared though, as I’m clearly not into the mainstream anime / manga type of storytelling (too many dramatic dialogues, over-the-top sensitivity when sharing emotions, lack of credibility when fights take place - simply not my jam).
I don’t think I’m gonna play PVE if the storyline isn’t close to the diversity we had with each Animated shorts from OW1.

I’d say it’s inspired by Avatar (cartoon) which is more inspired by anime rather than western cartoons. But it’s definitely not an anime.
Activision realized that “Damn, we lose the chinese playerbase!” so now they have to please the japanese and korean players
Thats more of a Disney/Pixar thing. Hell, this game would fit into the Pixar universe with OW2’s narrative.

Blemishless features, even on scared characters.
Overly animated movements.
Bright vibrant colors.
Off screen implied deaths.
Definitely Disney.
