Is Overwatch an anime?

What? Disney really. The characters are way to well developed to be disney characters

I think Arcane style animation would fit OW better

Though I may be biased, Iā€™ll admit, I still need to finish Cyberpunk

Yeah it would be a hard argument to make that it shouldnā€™t be called an anime.

It would, but Iā€™d be happy with any studio really.

Production I.G. would be my prefered choice (having made ghost in the shellā€¦ I mean, they would handle overwatch really wellā€¦)

Madhouse (because Team 4 already has a collaboration in place - being one punch man) would be I guess the most likelyā€¦ but Iā€™m not crazy about that as an idea.

Wit Studio would also work (overwatch being done by the Attack on Titan peeps would be interesting).

A1 would have been a very good choice, but with the strain between Microsoft and Sony it is unlikely that would be able to happen, and they are in many ways a Sony shop.

And yes, of course you could go with Trigger, but Iā€™m not actually sure it would work so well long term, but I think Iā€™m in the minority there.

You know, this is kind of off topic, but I have to say the fact you had to clarify you meant it as an insult gave me a good chuckle.

I can concede ā€œinspired by animeā€ but anime is originally just the name for cartoons from japan. Anime fans donā€™t like to HEAR thatā€¦ but thatā€™s pretty much the deal.

Lots of people use Anime to mean characters with big eyes and a certain art style (which has interestingly changed over the years) but itā€™s justā€¦ japanese cartoons.

Sure the colloquial usage changes the definition but when people say things like ā€œis overwatch an animeā€ itā€™s super incomprehensible. What does that even mean in this case?

Scrap my previous comment, Studio trigger by far has the best animation style(at least one of my fav animation styles)

Though my favorite style of all is whatever style of animation Idaten Deities Know Only Peace is animted with. (Gives me studio trigger vibes but is animated by MAPPA)

a style of Japanese film and television animation, typically aimed at adults as well as children.
This is why people think it does but it doesnt it just like making a english long sword in india its still an english long sword

And champagne is only from a particular region in France?

What people use as terms and what it is officially donā€™t always match, and how people use it is honestly the winner here.

Avatar is a good way to measure it, if you wanted to find it in your streaming service, would you look in the anime section?

Because you know that is where you will find it.
