anyone using this CPU? finally had my first BSOD in a comp game and got suspended
was running my cpu at stock settings and speeds
anyone else using this crapatron of a processor? swear it’s already starting to degrade. i’m getting dips below my monitors refresh rate on everything low settings. for a game like overwatch which can run on a potato i have no idea why it’s running like a potato on a $500 cpu

I will say the 13900k is the worst CPU I ever built with. Now Intel blames the mobo’s. It is just a bad chip and will go back to AMD for the next build.

what makes you think it is the cpu?
90% of the time it is usually a GPU driver issue.

i was huffing some mad copium thinking i got one of the “good ones”
no it’s just as bad as the rest and i did in fact not win the silicon lottery
intel’s 13th and 14th gen cpu’s have been having widespread instability issues. most notable 13700k/f, 14700k/f and the 13900k/f and 14900k/f.

ok, but is worth checking the crash logs because it may not be what you think.

The mobo updates did help out a ton. However it took wut 2 years?
I have got a 14700K, no problems so far. It gets really toasty thou when it turbos😅
Luckily that is only temporarily, usually runs at 50-55 in game.
Should definitely check the drivers thou, and if you have other issues. Temps is a good thing to check as well, this is true for any AMD processor as well. They run hot now days. It is critical you have modern air coolers or water cooler that has not ran bad. If custom loop make sure the block is clean and radiators get enough air.

Next time opt for a 7800x3d
Cheaper, less temp and more power.
Mine is running like a good oiled motor.
500 fps all the time.

I think I’m just gonna sell it, my motherboard, accept the loss and buy a 7800x3d

That is what I used to build my wifes and MicroCenter had a great deal. Think it was 350 for the chip, mobo, and 32gb memory.

7800x3d is $580 aud for me lol
wish i had a microcenter equivalent over here
Sometimes you get a really good deal on Newegg too.
I had a bad experience with a mobo years ago that came damage. My money no longer goes their way.
That’s kinda pain but worth it.
yeah for sure. am5 being supported til at least 2027 makes it a no brainer.

Did you check what the BSOD code was? how do you know its the CPU, there are so many variables.
I’ve only gotten one BSOD before and it was during boot-up, then it hasn’t happened since
yea was reading about the intel chips. unfortunately i recently got a 19 13900k but i did a bios update. i always hate doing bios updates since nerve racking… it could possibly brick your motherboard or there is a chance heh
As someone who worked in the industry for a few years. GPU drivers aren’t even up there probably the most common I’ve seen is from dying harddrives, damaged usb ports/cables, overheating issues, people installing like 4 anti viruses.
Ofc, in this case it is probably the CPU cause 14th are … Well terrible, they run so hot they damage themselves.

yeah i checked it was cpu related
which aligns with the current issues that 14th gen chips are having
