Ideas:
-6v6 locked 2x2x2 (nobody likes playing tank by themselves)
-More heroes/stop reworking kits (everyone likes new heroes but no one likes relearning the heroes they already love)
The hardest part…
(You need to make the game more casual friendly.) 100%%%%%%%%%%%%
-Rework the MMR system to reward players for time played/win rate and less on whatever you are using now. (To be honest I would rather have more players in my bracket (GM) than be fighting the same “skilled” people all day with crazy long queue times.
It needs to be easier for players to climb and reward players for playing the game.
Gamers don’t like to feel like their efforts are wasted this causes them to not play your game. Also, who wants to stream your game if they can’t stay in GM because no one wants to watch a diamond player.
Look at Fortnite for example (easy to climb and they have maintained their large player base for years because of it.)
*This will lead to Unskilled/less skilled players climbing which is fine because you can offer them a helping hand.
-Have different levels of APM/skill requiring heroes in each role.
-Have the stat expression be similar or the same such as heals per second/damage per second (this allows low IQ players the ability to offer the same amount of damage/shield/healing as high IQ players that migrate to the harder to play heroes)
I would also limit the FPS to match the limitations of consoles (since they have the most players) this will also help gamers who can’t afford the latest greatest monitor (which is 99% of them) and allow your team to keep up with Unreal Engine in terms of graphics/ability effects which is what drawls in the most players (even go so far to require max graphics settings at all of your official tournaments (regular tournaments don’t need this requirement).
Keep up the good work with adding new skins and crossovers…
I was having a lot of fun in 6v6 min 1 – very short queue times, able to switch to whatever character was needed if it was not already being played, able to try out team comps that were impossible to use in locked role queues, no tank passives to make them impossible to 1v1, etc. Standard open queue still has OP tanks and GOATS, so it’s no surprise that triple tank with 2 supports is still a common team comp.
6v6 min 1 should replace standard open queue, or add it as a separate and permanent game format.
The player base has very little to do with queue time once the player base reaches certain value. The queue time is way more of a ratio problem. You can have all the players on this world, but if you only have 10% players want to play tanks, you will have queue time issue.
Also, vast majority of the player base don’t want bots in their game. There is a reason blizzard has been quite careful when claiming adding bots.
I agree with you for most ranks, that it’s a ratio between roles issues. But if the OP really is gm, current gm is like not even 500 people per role. So being at the very top there, it could also be a lack of players issue. Maybe they could shorten the queues by putting the masters players in the games quicker than looking for more gm, but that also has its drawbacks.
I don’t want 2/2/2 or to make the game more casual friendly. It’s good because we don’t have those things. Not every game needs to be casual. 99% of them already are. It makes more sense for casual players to go play casual games instead.
It’s because they keep resetting the ranks. I was GM 1 before the reset, and it was incredibly hard to climb back to GM 5 afterward, which put me in top 300 at the time. The best players from before the reset were still all playing against each other, juast in mid-Masters instead. Then they did another reset for some reason, and my Masters 3 games are as hard as GM1 games used to be.
T500 will get lower and lower every time they reset. Climbing takes time, especially when the reset doesn’t actually change your MMR or the people you’re playing with.
Speak for yourself. I find it probably the most fun part of playing overwatch and wish they did more of it
Once you reach a plateau and nothing is different for months is when overwatch gets kinda boring because it’s just the same thing over and over again, and the same goes for heroes.
Part of the reason I’m not the biggest fan of marvel rivals is because it just feels so repetitive.
Don’t force anything on anyone. That’s the number one rule for creating an enjoyable game.
The more you try to interfere in people’s games and behavior, the greater the resistance will be. This is the real reason why the toxicity in this game is so high.
I agree, but the underlying issue is that some players will always complain and look for a scapegoat when they lose. So no matter what, somebody will be “interfering in (those) peoples’ games and behavior” whether it’s not switching, private profile, having bad aim; the list is endless. This is the reason we have hero limits, role queue, QP penalties, and 5v5 in the first place: players can’t handle the DEFEAT screen.
let’s add a new random thing to a character that exists already.
And the more casual friendly mode was the PVE. As soon as my casual friends heard that was cancelled (well, i had to tell them because they saw the trailer and nothing else since, they think its still coming) they gave up.
I am starting to think MR is here to stay. There has been lots of complaints from streamers about overpowered support ults, and what does NetEase do in its latest patch? Just bugfixes, no balance changes, no knee-jerk reactions.
This is unlike the Mercy changes where streamers complained a lot about mass rez, Blizzard lent its considerable marketing into supporting these streamers, and then eventually when there was so much community backlash against Mercy they implemented the Mercy rework which bore the Mercy moth meta.
I was one of the first objectors to the Mercy moth meta because I didn’t like the Mercy pocket style – I was one of the first who voiced the view that pocket Mercy stinks, and triage Mercy should be the right direction.
If NetEase was at the helm, they would not have Jeff Kaplan talking with Seagull about how Mercy mass rez is bad (which I thought at the time was a very bad move), and they wouldn’t do all these silly reworks and massive design changes from their original vision in OW1.
At the rate Blizzard is doing radical changes to the game playing referee between feuding player communities, it’s no wonder Blizzard has heavily disappointed its OW community at least once over its lifetime so far – the Mercy community, the Reinhardt community, the Genji community, etc.etc. – every community who one tricks their favorite hero has been hit hard at least once over the years.
NetEase is better than that, and I don’t think Blizzard is increasing its playerbase based on its modus operandi so far.
I honestly don’t mind playing solo ball, if there’s no sombra on the enemy team. I can also work with mei as Rein without a second tank. As it is, Ana and Sombra are the main reasons why people avoid solo tank.
The map rotation and the roles, at least the author of the thread is a supporter of this, if I understand correctly.
What I’m saying is that waiting 10 minutes or more to play a role you like is not an option.
Not playing the game is not a valid solution to problems in the game.
