In account merging queue looping around since release

Hello,
i have 4.5 k hours on overwatch (xbox) and merged my acc. months ago. Have been in queue since release now, always starting at 300.000 going down steadily to 0 only to find myself at 300.000 again. This is really breaking my heart. I loved the game so much, that i dedicated 3/4 of a year of my life to it and now everything is gone, while i get mobbed by the game i loved so much. Has any one else the same issue? Because im really losing hope. It feels like i have been robbed by blizzard themselves.

do you have to confirm the merge every time you come out of a match or launch the game.and in the merge window below your account name is there a red text that reads account changed.

I have that but i dont know if this is a problem.

To anyone who has “account changed” - Someone shared a fix with me and I finally got my stuff back! You have to connect the original battlenet account to the console account, wait about half an hour, and the merge will complete. When they say there is a year cooldown it’s for NEW console accounts. There’s no wait time to re-link a previous account. Hope this helps!

Edit: be warned it seems you do not get to keep the progress/purchases made in OW2.

Oh really? I would try this but I’ve already made progress and got some skins on this new account.

Would rather they simply fix the problem so we don’t have to do these gymnastics.

What’s annoying is that this specific problem has not been addressed by the devs in any way.

We don’t even know if “account changed” is a barrier deliberately.

so for me its this: i used another battle net account (1) until like 1month before release (2), then i changed it to this one.
What you are saying is this: i need to connect (1) again, merge my xbox account with that one and it will work immediatly?

Am i getting that right? Because if yes i will do just that. I guess its the account switch which makes it broken.

Yes exactly! Once I did that, the account showed “confirmed” instead of “account changed” in the queue. Closed the game, reopened maybe 20 mins later, and the merge was complete.

So my problem is the account that was linked before my new Battle net account was a account from Blizzard so i didnt do one they just gave me one and then before release i changed my account bc i wanted an account linked that i have access too. The other account from Blizzard didnt have any Information from me so i dont know how to get my stuff back in this method. You have help with this?

Can you let me know if it worked?

Lol at a random forumer providing more tech support on this issue than anyone from Blizzard

Nice that there is another way to fix this but for me its still like scam bc they gave me a random account that is gone as soon as i linked my new account.

Really hope I don’t regret this.
So I had two 2 Xbox profiles, one for comp and one for playing around.
Originally signed up for Battle.net for both, one with my phone number and one with my main email
With the ow2 launch and needing a phone number I moved my comp profile email and phone all to the same Battle.net account
Obviously I did it wrong since I got the red account changed for the merge and in que loop for a week.
So I am trusting you all, and I moved everything back to the other Battle.net.
I will not be home for a couple of hours to test this. Thankfully the only thing I might of lost if this works is a player icon I bought

Just some caution as I’ve done the same.

I had the WatchPoint pack, a Kiriko skin and a whole load of battle pass progress that didn’t make it over to the new account.

Everything I’ve done so far in OW2 has been lost. I’m hoping I can get a refund on the watchpoint pack
