Shes definitely over the “Safe side of strong” line as far as Im concerned.
Biggest up- I feel giving a hero 100~ healing per second as their base/primary heal was a big mistake, and a prime example of healing creep- to go on that her damage is nothing to scoff at either.
She pumps out the damage / healing numbers of moira (Even in single match QP games I am seeing her dole out around 15-20~ thousand healing/damage combined)- But her damage is actually meaningful, doing like 115~ damage per second. On top of that she actually has very impactful utility with her speed ring.
She lacks a self heal, but her evasiveness more than makes up for it.
I always advocate caution with public stats, but shes doing extremely well as far as we can see on public stats- At pretty much all ranks. Her overall pick rate in public stats on comp is over taking Ana (which is impressive- as ana has regularly been the top picked support overall, and this has been confirmed by the devs themselves multiple times, going so far as to say that ana has been the most picked hero overall in the game quite often), and when you look at her win rate compared to the other top 5~ or so supports, shes doing about 5-8~ % higher (Overall / or at specific ranks).
Her auto lock ability amusingly enough is probably the most lackluster part of her kit and is overall whatever.
I will be surprised if we dont see this hero nerfed next season.
This is one of the first times in overwatch history we don’t have some immortality spam, infinite debuffs like nade and discord, or whatever the annoying as hell support utility is.
Let’s just leave it as it is. You would regret asking for nerfs once you start seeing kiriko bap every game. I don’t want to go back to kiriko jail for another year and a half where it’s just suzu suzu suzu or whatever other annoying as hell support utility. I’m perfectly fine with her power level right now. She’s possibly one of the healthiest heroes ever been released, she’s not just fun herself but she’s fun to play with and fair to fight, despite being so strong.
It really does, majority of the community is fine with her which is why she has gotten so little complaints despite being so strong. Games are about fun. And she’s really not that far above other supports.
The balance team has been smart to make orisa/hog/mauga low tier for the same reason, it’s extremely boring and unfun.
So, let’s say we nerf her, what happens? we go back to kiriko or ana jail for another year? Some heroes just deserve to be higher than others, juno is one of them.
I mean, I do get what you’re saying. It kind of does feel like juno has almost everything going for her minus the health thing, but she is rather slender.
The only thing that kind of annoys me is how hard her torpedoes lock onto you. They are Cassidy magno-bang levels of homing. Like, Ive had times where I blink/fade/translocate through it and it does an instant 180 and clocks me in the back the head. It’s only 85, but 85 isn’t nothing.
Depends a lot on how hard you nerf her, and what you nerf about her.
A small nerf makes her a viable option. A big nerf makes her useless.
Im not advocating to sledge hammer her knees- But shes definitely “dominating” right now, and i dont think thats a good thing for any hero to be doing (regardless of how “healthy” their mechanics are or arent).
It definitely feels like youre at a notable disadvantage if youre not running juno and the enemy is (Or likewise, feels like you have a massive advantage when you are and they arent)
Maybe give her a small nerf at the most just to open up more support diversity, but she should really still stay the strongest support. Ana kiri dominated for years, juno is MILES more healthy than those two.
The last thing I want to see is another stupid ana or kiri meta where everything is being suzu’d left and right, and tanks are endlessly getting naded and slept.
No, it doesn’t, and there is literally no data which shows that there is a “community” is fine with her, none, zip, zero, nada… you are just pulling that from your nether regions, and even if there were, that doesn’t mean she is fine.
It is data which dictates the direction that tuning decisions should go.
I am not advocating for anything, just pointing out that your arguments are very, very weak.
She’s a fun Support. Not a must pick unless you doing the meta slave routine for rank.
I’m still a Lucio main and play him way more than her. But I don’t want to see Juno knocked down to why play this Support when Kiriko, Bap, and Ana are better.
She’s the least cried about Support. I like things where they are where we can almost play any support duo save for the highest levels.
Thats what balance should look like imo. Focus on fixing the great balance rift between tanks and bottom tier DPS first.
I was honestly surprised Juno can heal as well as she does. I was expecting a Lucio-esque support where like 70% of her strength is in her speeding her team about, so the healing numbers were a nice surprise. I can see Blizz knocking heals or damage down once the new season arrives though. Like damage down to ~105dps or heals down to ~90hps. The new hero doesn’t have to be pushed center stage once the new season arrives lol.
Though ThiccBuddha’s got a point, gotta sell the collab skin first! Buff her to 150hps/dps immediately!
Lucio not only sacrifices heal numbers and range significantly (he literally does less than 20% of her healing at a tiny fraction of her range), but literally has to turn speed off in order to heal.
Now, there are advantages that Lucio has, such as wallride and boop, and a much better ult, but those advantages don’t really make up for 100hps while using speed, not requiring being in a 12m circle to use it, and a far less consistent, lower damage weapon even after it was upgraded.
Just in the comparison, she seems to have too much.
I really enjoyed her when she was more average. I would say at least 80% of my games have at least one juno on either side. There should not be this many juno mirrors as well. Would be nice for there to actual be variety again it’s reminding me of mauga.
So… You’d nerf her healing. But forget about all the metal ranks that can’t aim super consistently.
You’d need to increase her projectile size by a lot if that’s the direction you’d go. You can’t have a character that’s only playable in the top 1%…
As far as we can see on public stats, Juno is the strongest performing support by a considerable margin. She definitely has some wiggle room, even as far as the “metal ranks” are concerned.
