I’ve been getting back into the game lately, and I’ve noticed that my teammates and some opponents(specifically backfill) have been acting extremely strange. I’m not one to usually call my teammates or opponents bad, but they play so bad that I’m not sure if they’re humans. Horrible scores, 1 endorsement level, they never speak, they use ultimates in spawn, they have no customization, etc. I’m genuinely starting to believe that these people might be bots or something, am I the only one with this problem?
Some people are running automated scripts to level accounts or burn through games for achievements or to play comp.
While you apparently may encounter bots in the future provided by Blizz, but more likely you got someone prepping accounts for… something. Blizzards AI is at least objective focused.
they could just be new or bad. can’t rule out benefit of the doubt.
my youth group plays like this.
they’re young learners working on FPS basics.
they burn through accounts because of false reports of sabotage/bot-like play.
tbh being a bot or ai would be a compliment since they are capable of better-than-all-humans-ever gameplay.
See, that’s what I thought too, but at least a new player would at least say something, either in text or voice, or at least try to hit something. These “players” actively shoot at walls and end up barely hitting anything for the entire match.
I’m starting to think some devs are bots. Or most of them. Or all of them. I haven’t figured out the proportion yet
Endorsement 1 cant use vc or chat afaik.
This is what I have realized as well. At first, I thought it was Blizz Bots, but what makes more sense is regular people using bots to level up their accounts. But what I dont get is the whole team would be bots. Are they teaming up together? Are they running 10+ PCs in one house at a time?
Are they testing bots in quickplay? - General Discussion - Overwatch Forums
Very likely. Someone who does this is probably selling the accounts to others as unlocked or “placed”.
Human bots are real, OP. I’ve seen Crees literally running up to Bobs and tossing their flashbang or whatever at it like its gonna do something, and I just saw a Lucio and Tracer essentially just stand still during the first team fight. Is this stupid throwing bot behavior really coming from a human? Yeah. Human bots.
I really hope they don’t add bots. AI bots are one of the major reasons why I quit MR. I’m playing QP to play with OTHER PLAYERS. If I want to play bots, there’s a damned mode dedicated to it.
Not sure they belong to the game or they are just dudes botting but yes, 100%.
I’ve always played new maps with bots, to get to know the HP locations etc and I can tell you, in Arcade modes, they are adding bots 100% or some people are botting.
Level 5 endorsement accounts that just move forward, “spam” their skills to the first target they see and only move back or cover slightly when they lose 50% HP. No VC, no chat, only “gg” at the end or not even that.
They are already in the game. Just because blizz doesn’t admit it doesn’t mean they aren’t there. How else do you think they get matches filled.
With players.
lol, You got jokes. I’m bronze, and there are “players” that act worse than the worst bronze I’ve seen in all my years. Even a dead person could play better, which leads me to believe they are the best AI that blizzard has to offer.
Why are you so sure they are Blizzards bots?
And not these ones:
Getting to bronze is best-case for some account sellers.
there are bots! even on console exactly this happens.
As an NPC bot, I find this accusation to be hurtful.
