They told me 5v5 turned the game into CoD, which wasn’t even remotely true in my experience

If by “COD”, they meant, less team reliant, lower ttk, less mitigation more hitscan heavy, then they were correct.
“More like Cod” is an objective fact, if there must be a scale applied.

If by CoD they meant not CoD then they are correct, sure. I’m not gonna operate under that assumption though.
They also told me it turned the game into Deathmatch. Also wasn’t true in my experience.

tbf, anyone saying it will literally be like cod is an idiot. I do think people have a point when they say “its leaning more in the direction of COD”, and I think that can be objectively proven. If I have time to write an essay on the topic.

What if, and I’m spit balling here, 5v5 didn’t make the game less team reliant but rather changed the focus of which skills are most important for good teamwork.
Holding up a barrier in a choke point isn’t the most important teamwork aspect anymore, instead it’s prioritizing targets.
