If you're suspicious of a hacker, just report them

Even just a little bit suspicious, report them. If they are cheating they’ll get banned faster with the help of your report and if they aren’t, they won’t get enough other reports for it to matter.

Why? when you can watch replay. Then after you’ve watched the replay, and you’re still suspicious and can’t tell maybe then do it, but apart from that I suggest watching the replay first.

Just report if think they could be. There was is no false banning with just reports

yes there is, there is an automated system

Because it’s a waste of time? Nobody who hit a lucky shot or two is ever going to get banned by accident and those actually cheating will get banned faster.

Takes a min or so while you’re queuing for your next game to inspect the replay to see instead of false reporting people

Still not worth my time. Zero benefit.

Someone’s afraid of getting caught…

Outside of some Linux users (all of whom were reinstated), there has never been a false ban for cheating in the history of Overwatch. Cheating bans are not automated.

Yes they are lol the whole system is automated

Also

lol that you call me a cheater

me: I don’t agree with false reporting
them: OMG YOU ARE A CHEATER THEN!

Cheating report reviews and suspensions are not automated.

they are the whole Ow report system is automated including “gameplay sabotage”

There is a streamer that Hoshi spoke about and every like few hrs their accounts were being terminated and they kept making new accounts

you need a bunch of reports in a certain time frame and u will get suspended

But you’re fine not to believe me, and honestly don’t care, I just know that is how the system works because I know a lot of off-meta players who have been unfairly suspended by the automated system

Not true at all, lol, it’s all automated system otherwise they would spend a lot of resources watching vods all day lol

when they are banning 10,000 people a month and they watch lets say 20 minutes of game time that’s 200,000 hours total for 20 minutes of 10,000 people gameplay lol

If you really think the mods are sitting all day every day looking at cheater reports… lmao

also btw they only look into the appeals it’s done by automated system dude. and even then you might get an automated response judging from my friends who have been punished for “gameplay sabotage” for playing heroes like Moira, Sym etc in high ranked comp.

Anyway, I’m done here and wish you a good day.

hire me if it’s true I want this easiest job ever just sitting watching vods all day, I already sit on my PC like 15+ hours a day playing games lol

I’ve ran studies, personally, of the report system and I know for a FACT that cheating reports are handled specifically by humans. There is no automated report solution on the back end for cheating.

FOR A FACT

Everything else, yes - there is an automated solution but not for cheating.

I don’t disagree with you because you say it’s automated. I disagree with you because my own research into the topic has produced results consistent with human moderated reviews. I’m not taking it from some streamer who THINKS they know what’s going on.

Because I do know what’s going on.

They are, it’s an automated system based on reports, the whole system is automated, the only time when they will check it is when there is a whole uprise of people trying to defend some one publicaly (ie : TreeBoyDave). Een the answer when you try to complain about it is automated. People have have already made experiment about it by asking to get report on a brand new account and they were banned with the automated system telling him the usual discourse.

Those are two different things. Gameplay sab is 100% suspension based on player reports but the cheating tab triggers manual reviews (on the same threshold) and humans check the reports.

Reporting someone on the forum is handled in the same manner - a threshold is reached and is flagged for human review.

If you want to trigger a human review of a cheater instantly you can bypass the threshold you can report a game directly with the replay feature and it will be sent directly to the hacks team. (the ‘danger’ icon on the replay tab)

LOL. What kind of logic is that?

There are plenty of reports of false accusation. People are abusing the system to report people they don’t like because it’s automated. Ask 20 friends to repport you for cheating and you’ll see how fast you’re gonna get banned and if you try to contest that sanction, you’ll have the automated mail stating they did carefully check every evidence. Which is false.

There are 2 automatisms : IF the anticheat is actually detecting a bot (meaning people using an outdated version, basic macro etc), OR based on community suspicion : meaning via reports.

The first line of defense is Warden, Blizzard’s anti-cheat. Which is completely automated and is, more-or-less, a list of known cheat hashes. The second line of defense is player reports. And the third line of defense is the mass suspension waves.

There are also multiple ways to get in touch with the Hacks team at blizzard: 1) hacks@blizzard.com (direct contact), 2) the report game function on the replay tab (the “danger” icon) which goes directly to the hacks team, and 3) simple player reports which does threshold triggered reviews.

The first is how VAC works on Valve’s own games such as CS:GO, TF2 etc

https://www.reddit.com/r/Competitiveoverwatch/comments/fqp4qm/carter_proves_you_can_be_banned_for_cheating/

you called me a liar basically and I finally found the stuff that Carter did last year to prove that the whole report system is automated. He did this live on stream too, and a bunch of people watched.

now I’m outta here forreal have a good day, and also don’t accuse people of cheating just because they don’t agree with false reports, thank you.

Don’t forget to e-stalk them and badger blizzard like “did you take action on them? Did my report do anything??” Allowing them to live rent free in your head is the key to healthy coping.

Report and move on.
