Tell them “I see where you are going with this character, but it would be even better with this/these adjustments”.

That’s the same as giving them suggestions to change this and that…

Coming up with solutions is the devs’ job. They are paid to do that.
The best feedback you can provide is point out flaws and other issues. (Constructive)

Yeah, but you’d be surprised how the devs are more appreciative of ideas that help them do their job.

At least, that’s been my experience.
