Or play Open Queue. If that becomes more popular, and the most picked heroes are tanks, Blizzard might get the hint.
That’s a sure fire way to get 4v4 with no tank role at all. I’m telling you right now that a boycott won’t get 6v6 back. It’ll get an alternative solution that everyone dislikes even more.

Nah it won’t. You obviously don’t understand how the psychological aspects works here.
Developers see more and more people play tank, they’ll assume it’s working as intended and think nothing of it.
Developers see less and less people play tank, and they’ll go ‘Something’s not right here and we need to change that’.

I understand the business aspect and the mindset of software developers. They don’t like to revert changes. The chances of 6v6 coming back are extremely low, like astronomically low, regardless of what we do. And they will never ever do it without a 100% guarantee of a sustainable player population.
A boycott will absolutely close the door on 6v6 forever. They will think about solutions, but that won’t be on the table. It’s far more likely that they radically alter the tank role to be something completely different in that scenario.
Your shooting yourself in the foot.
No one playing tank is proof that 6v6 is needed though. It shoes how horrible the role has become

Now that you mention it… you are right lol
Currently we have not many tank players, so needing double the amount would be terrible. If tank would be the most played role… THEN I could see it 
I would go back to tanking if 6v6 was brought back. I quit tank because of how heavily tanks got counter swapped on, which I believe can only be alleviated with an additional tank.
If they were to just turn on 6v6 and knock down some tank HP and cooldowns I think tank would be a lot more fun to play now than prior to OW2. One of the big complaints from tank players at the time was the prevalence of stuns and CC stacking which isn’t an issue anymore. With the dev’s new balance philosophy and faster update pace will also help the role from becoming overly stagnant like it did during the content drought.
Nothing will change this. Like literally nothing! This is life, not starwars movie . Nu lizard will make this game more and more noobs friendly, less and less " tactics savvy ", everything will be simplified so one day you can play the game from your phone and have same stats like player on keyboard & mouse . Business decided this direction and nothing we can do about this . Even you stop giving them money wont change their mind, because they have endless flow of new players who always buy digital stuff
as i said, its a nice idea, but you will never get enough people playing tank to outstrip the DPS/Support queue
The opposite direction has a better chance of working. Tank pop gets so low cause solo tank sucks so they bring 6v6 back.
The game is balanced for 5v5 now.
And they aren’t giving you 2 tanks again.

Firstly, I don’t want 6v6 back. Pass.
Second, what kind of pipe dream is this? Play tank more to bring in another tank? Play the least popular role to add another player slot to it? Like… what?
Its like the last 2 years of OW1 didnt happen, just rewrite history saying tanks were enjoying themselves. And, switching to 6v6 would magically bring OW back to its former glory.
Puh-leeze. 
But we stopped using 6v6 because nobody was playing tank. So if more people don’t play it then we can never go back.
I don’t want it back either. Just saying to those that do should start playing so that we can go back, by only playing tank. Any dps or support main that wants it back would need to prove tank population can exist for 6v6.
Best way to bring back 6v6 is to boycott the game.
