If mercy isn't getting buffs we are trolling

Kinda, it’s more like “There needs to be a break in the Neutral Game, where somebody misreads a play and screws up”.

https://youtu.be/P7kgGnWpBZ4?si=IG_j7QNG36iTW10l

Where after that, is an “Advatage State”, which then leads to “Outplays”.

Oh, but I thought of a way to kinda circumvent that.

Just make it so the Attack side team, has a faster ult charge rate, after the Attack objective capture speed is slower than average.

Which breaks stalemates.

Hmm, how does that become a Mercy buff?

So maybe buff Mercy’s ult as a stronger initiation tool? This discussion reinforces how strong Ana and nade is in my view, tbh, lol.

Oh, Mercy doesn’t get any buffs until they solve the Sharpshooter issues.

But if they did that. Generally the issue with Mercy would be mobility and “minigames”.

For example, here’s what I mean about “minigame”.
Give Mercy a range of heal speeds between 50hps and 70hps.
With the heal being stronger, the closer Mercy is to the teammate.

With the idea being that closer = more risky. Also the difficulty of keeping up with squirrelly teammates.

And a similar post to above.

Broken supports : The norm

Mercy when not S-tier and on par with said supports: Yep, needs a a buff, hard throw.

The competitive ladder average meta in the average ranks:

Mercy/LW
Mercy/Lucio
Mercy/Zenyatta

Guys, sometimes your Mercy pick actually doesn’t work and it’s fine, concede and switch. Ranking up with Mercy alone puts you in this state where you are required to leech off someone else’s for you to win most of the time. The team composition matters a lot, even more how your team plays. Mercy is currently not a problem at all, she doesn’t need a buff, it’s actually specific supports who requires nerfs instead, but we know this will never actually happen.

It’s fine for a hero to be in the middle of the pack every now and then.

Mercy is popular and likable as a character. I play Reinhardt despite the fact that I win more games on other tanks because I like him, and resonates deeply with my character.

On a more pragmatic note, Mercy is good for the game (a fantasy hero worthy of emulation by her fans), and sells skins. It satisfies Blizzard CSR and their bottom line. If there were less streamer hate on her, they’d buff Mercy until she’s OW esports viable.

Because of the many and severe limitations imposed upon this ability, i dont see it as anywhere remotely near the power of an ultimate

Not at all

A Mercy who is boosting isnt doing other things, and in fact, the overall damage would generally be higher on the target if the Mercy joined the player she’d otherwise be boosting and pewpewing with her underrated pistol

Gonna agree there with Megadodo.

Mercy doesn’t have that much concerns with breakpoints.

Her issue is pocketing Widow and Hanzo (and formerly Sojourn).

Because those heroes violate formal counterplay guidelines.

Counterplay

(According to the most senior gameplay designers at Riot and Valve)
“After you make your Choice, your Opponent should have the capability, to respond with their Choice, which includes the awareness that a Choice exists, and enough time to understand and react with their Choice”.

So the way you keep them in check, is by making them dead more often. (Or the equivalent downtime)

But if they don’t die, because of pocketing, that’s a problem.
Since that “Glass Cannon”, just becomes a “Cannon”.

Easy fix for that:

I regularly see Mercys being harassed in QUICKPLAY/even open qp for picking/staying on Mercy. Some of my friends have disappointed me in even being the ones telling them to swap off Mercy, I just want to tell them to shut up and leave people alone.

Valk provides +10% dmg reduction to beamed heroes and herself with/without beaming.

During Valk, Mercy can GA without teammates, however GA cooldown is 5 seconds if done without using teammate.

Buffs her ult for team and battlevalk playstyle.

Thoughts?

So tell em. Be the leader to help your peers be better people

Seems like an interesting idea, but one of the hooks to mercy is her ease of healing/boosting so players can focus on zipzapping around like a humming bird.

Your rework forces her to become more aim requirement with the spears which i don’t personally mind but you would probably summon the wrath of most mercy players for a change like that.

And also requires a full rework with more animations and such which i doubt the devs would go for. At least with the change i suggested, my thoughts are that battlevalk is still optional, yet more effective. 10% dmg reduction should be super strong and allow her to hold dmg boost on her team for longer. The unchained GA would give mercy much more autonomy so we agree that should be a thing. But it definitely needs a longer cooldown for how fast and effective GA is.

I do think they need to change her melee though. By making it so her melee doesn’t cancel beam, in and out of valk so she can get a quick bit of damage in a flyby in niche situations. It would add a fun aspect that players currently don’t do that often because it’s just too clunky with the cancel.

They could play around with giving her melee a debuff of sorts with a cooldown. But i doubt they’d go that far either.

Ah the second link sounds fun though.

Does that allow mercy to choose to heal as well, if she wishes, or does it force mercy to barbie blaster?

Yup, I honestly think there’s a nonzero chance that idea became Bap Lamp and Orisa Spear.

So we have you to blame for those designs!

Because most mercys can just healbot. They should rework her staff that you could launch explotion on a dead targets(like from mirrorwatch). That would help a lot.

Her pistol is a wet disgrace.

Among other things, maybe.

One shots are in every game and are way more unfair - #119 by GreyFalcon-11737

Amen dude, every hero should be able to be impactful. Mercy’s skill expression is different from DPS heroes and is so unique in gaming. Mercy is so beloved by many but cops a lot of unfair hate. Other supp heroes like moira, brig, kiri are not hard to learn or play but somehow mercy is an easy target for ‘No skill’ critiques - these just arent true. I wish the devs gave her some help and recognised what she brings to the game. My dream would be to bring back her early movement from S1-2.
