If Blizzard withdrew Hazard's release

and fleshed out his design more, I wouldnt be mad about it. Even if it means not getting a new hero next season.

Seriously, Hazard might be the most generic Overwatch hero design to date, which is so uncharacteristic of Overwatch. That old Phreak concept looked way more interesting.

This is the first design where I think the art team might be losing their touch. Even characters I give shade to like Venture still look on-brand for Overwatch, and effectively convey the hero’s theme.

Hazard just looks like a big dude with no uniqueness to his design. He looks like an early concept art that needs more time to be fleshed out.

I swear people say this about like, every new hero. “It doesn’t look like overwatch”

Do they? I’ve never really noticed. Either way, its the first time I’ve personally ever said it.

Aye his design looks generic as hell. Its like Mauga and Sigma had a son who was raised by Junkrat and Roadhog living in the spiderverse.

The release cadence they’ve set isn’t sustainable if they’re going to make new heroes even remotely unique. I know we all like new heroes, but not if they’re going to be boring and generic, or barely disguised copies of existing heroes (Sojourne, Juno, Mauga, potentially Hazard), or terribly designed (Venture, Lifeweaver)

“Looks generic” when I’m pretty sure the average non-OW gamer thinks D.VA, Kiriko, and Juno are different skins of the same character.

I don’t visit this forum enough to know what people say about new heroes, but I think he looks great. He’s a tank right? So he’s supposed to look big and buff. Also it’s funny seeing half of the reactions say he’s hot and half say he’s ugly.

No chance of that. Everyone outside of OW fandom knows who Kiriko is, and ABSOLUTELY everyone outside of the fandom knows who Dva is. Juno is too new for this. You are tripping.

Jokes aside I think other than he kinda looks like Sigma, he looks cool and “generically unique”. I love his eyes and how he looks at things and I don’t even know why.

You overestimate how much people care about OW at all.

The release cadence for heroes is roughly the same as it was in OW1, before they put the game on life support to work on OW2.

Dont care about how much people care about OW. Im not commenting about that at all. Im talking about how Kiriko and specially Dva are instantly recognizable unique characters from OW to the broader gaming community.

and you didnt even mentioned the lore aspect, every new character its so out of place, they came from their own faction without conections with anyone in overwatch, their goals and problems have nothing to do with the main plot, illari is the perfect example, her faction was presented and died on her origins trailer, so she have no reason to even exist, she has no motivation or goal, and now hazard on his super cinematic with cheap animation we dont even know who he is, why he is doing what he is doing, goal, past, anything

That’d be a quick way to insult the people who do enjoy or like his design. I think Kiriko default is hideous, Echo is lifeless and bland, Bastion is boring, Ashe was rather redundant (I do love her tho), and Sojourn was bland with no personality. Doesn’t mean they need deleted and remade to what I’d want.

Many other heroes would of been pulled as well, the hate on Baptiste was unreal.

I am expecting Blizz to tell us he is actually the son of Sigma and Moira

They aren’t? I was wondering why Baby D.Va could suddenly cleanse and fly…

Quite often, even back in the ow1 days, actually. I remember them saying that about Baptiste, Sigma, Sojourn, Illari, and Venture.

Yup. Baptiste was called a Fortnite skin when he launched. People thought Hammond looked stupid af. People cried that Lifeweaver looked like he came out of Paladins. People were calling Juno basic. Sojourn boring. Illari ugly. Venture out of place. This community is never satisfied and quite frankly has some of the worst artistic opinions I’ve ever seen.

If Mercy, Soldier, Hanzo, etc. were never released and then were revealed tomorrow people would be calling them boring and bland and out of place too

I feel like Venture is the only hero that falls under that category. All the others felt organic to the game

I still have no idea why they put in all those resources into releasing Venture and then completely abandoned him/her.
