I just created a thread in the Bug Reports thread for lack of anywhere else to put it.
Please visit that thread and add your voice if you’ve been affected by this stupid oversight by the developers.
It is insane that due to the developers oversight, the trolls are now setting up LFG groups then deliberately pulling out teams after several minutes just to waste their time and make them lose xp / endorsements. It is even worse that there is absolutely nothing we can do to stop it other than not grouping up.
Just give us an option to not leave Blizzard and make it on by default!
When a group leader tries to leave a game, the same alert that occurs when you try to leave a game to join a friend occurs. Pressing the cancel button means you will not be pulled out the match. Clean and simple.
While we’re at it, a “ready up function” would nice too.
Edit: Actually the answer ‘should’ be no. But there’s been one untested report by someone that it ‘did’ happen to them in comp. People have in the past been unable to do this though. So either that person was lying, the holiday patch removed the prevention code, or finally least likely of all (but still possible) hackers learned how to override the prevention code and use it to troll like this.
I’ve never really had this happen to me as I’m usually the group leader and I only play with friends who communicate before leaving but what I have had happen is this
Sometimes I have to leave a game early (silly things, door knocked, pizza finished in the oven, or Im too tired) but my friends want to keep playing. Ive forgotten to uncheck the box and brought them with me when I left and felt horrible especially if they were in a good game
I’ve also forgotten to check the box during a match that’s pretty toxic but usually they just leave afterwards and we all regroup
Though I do think an alert asking if they want to leave with the group would help a lot
