We literally all knew this was going to happen. It was inevitable
I’d rather play the game when there are 100,000 (F2P release) players, than 100. I have enough principles and willpower not to be taken advantage of, thankfully.
Don’t start counting your eggs too soon. Bliz has notoriously pushed titles back in the past.
That’s not a good thing… It’s early access and painfully obvious by how unready the devs are. OW2 will “launch” rushed with heroes still not receiving much needed balance changes and only two new heroes plus Kiriko on the battle pass. Me and countless others would have preferred to wait until next year when the game would actually be fixed and ready.
OW has gone on sale many, many times. Dropping I believe down to $12 on humble bumble. Then free weekends and a full Esport show to advertise it on Twitch/Now YT.
With all that if there isn’t a steady supply of new players constantly for Blizz/Ow then I don’t think dropping the price will do much.
Perhaps Overwatch has reached its cap on players that it can bring in. Tons of games would have loved to see the success OW has achieved.
Not countless mate, in fact the vast majority was promoting to split PvP and PvE for an early release. So much people wanted this that they literally did it.
Claiming the game is not ready because of a subjective opinion is not going to change it. Game is totally ready for the PvP to be released, we already saw it during the beta.
Again - telling it like it is
OW2 PVP is most certainly not ready. I don’t give a crap about PVE that can come years from now who cares I’m not paying for it. They couldn’t even give the playerbase a support hero at launch despite that role needing a new hero the most. If they dev team actually had enough finished heroes sitting around which they should because it’s been over three years since echo then they would have had no trouble dumping at least 5 heroes free at launch.
And don’t even get me started on the balance. A majority of all problem heroes and abilities were still in the game buy the end of the second beta. The fact that so many cancer heroes and abilities still need retuning but haven’t even seen public testing yet is a huge flag. The betas seemed rushed and pointless even because so many problems didn’t get fixed and hardly any new concepts were tested. We all saw it. Whatever the hell we got in the betas brought up so many more concerns. The game isn’t even close to ready.
Nah it is. There was nothing rushed on the betas, they were properly staged and heroes worked well. You are seeing ghosts and again, its on you. If you think the game is not even close to ready, then you think OW1 is not ready either.
Not changing my mind so feel free to stop @ me. This ends here
Lmao. They were a failure, so much so that the third one got axed. Tons of slows added for no reason. More AoEs and one-shots. Supports are still broken and it’s now pointless to shoot a tank who is getting healed so guess who everyone is going to focus now? Clown design but of course you thought it was fine
Bye bootlicker. I know you’re busy in the other hundred threads defending this trash.
Mark my words, it’ll happen.
Look at how busted Brig was at launch. Now imagine what she would have looked like it Blizz had a financial incentive to make everybody and their mothers want to play her.
So you’re saying Kiriko won’t have a unique but something much more generic that doesn’t involve her having counters nor being counters to certain heroes ?
What’s the point of even playing her if she doesn’t add any specific synergy with other groups of heroes then ?
New heroes were always supposed to add something original to the game dynamics. I get it that we will be having too many heroes at some point but that’s also the big selling point of Overwatch (which I guess explains new heroes behind locked behind the premium BP).
I hope you are wrong when it comes to Kiriko being kind of bland and not meta defining at some point. A hero that doesn’t particularly shine usually becomes niche with a low pick rate which again questions the decision to even locking the hero behind a paywall (if we want to play her right away).
Grinding a battle pass to unlock hero is counterintuitive to a game like Overwatch (unless they change the game completely from A to Z). Devs can’t just turn a P2P game into a F2P game hoping for the best, while not making any major changes to it.
Having a BP system like this one means they should nerf the counter-hero system by a lot. Will they, considering they didn’t do much after RQ got release or even 5v5 ?
I’m doubtful (but thrilled to be proved wrong at some point).
Id argue Sojourn didnt really add much to the game. just a strong dps thats like a cross of 76 and hanzo
He was unique but hammond was thought to be pretty weak for a while before he got some buffs. something like that wouldnt be pay to win now
LOL lord would that be funny, but in the saddest sort of way.
Well considering they’re currently aiming for an mid october release date, ANY sort of delay would be pushing it painfully close to early 2023, and that’s ignoring that releasing it late 2022 isn’t too far off that prediction in the first place.
“Would you like to pay $14.99 to copy Mauga?”
I find it hilarious that these guys think anyone cares they were “right”, enough to lead their posts with it.
The silence is louder today than in the past 3 years combined.
For shame Blizzard.
the only people who couldn’t see things like this coming are children and people who genuinely believe blizzard can do no wrong and react like this to EVERY controversial blizzard decision
remember kids: you are allowed to criticize the company that created the game you enjoy playing, and it’s a good thing for healthy criticism to exist because that makes the game better
and it is completely undeniable that overwatch 2 would be better off, more accessible, and more user-friendly if heroes were unlocked upon release for the entire player base instead of walled off in ANY way, and a battle pass might be one of the worst ways to do it.
The interesting thing is that we don’t know how it all works yet.
For all we know, the new heroes could all be playable in training, versus AI & Custom lobbies, but not in quickplay until you’ve played them in those modes for X amount of hours which will help keep games more fair instead of lopsided because someone has never played the new hero or role before
remember i can be fine with free games and say its not a big deal “kid”.
so we have to play the game to unlock her, not that worried about it
Absolutely you can criticize blizzard. Its the daily spam most are complaining about
