I actually quite like her as a hero, and think she’s a great character (Cat Lady! ). So I would miss her if she was gone.
However, since she’s been introduced she’s been responsible for such a series of compounding failures of design and balance that I just cannot believe.
She’s taking up way, way too much developer time and effort and it’s hurting everyone. That’s not healthy. It is probably looking like time to forget that sunk cost and just take her out of the game while she’s totally redesigned.
Honestly Torb, Sym, Mercy and D.Va have taken up more developer time the Brig. Brig needed to happen and would eventually happen, it’s something that the developers would have to learn not to do.
Torb and Symm were, and are always going to be problematic as builders in a fast paced game. That said, they always at least had niches.
Mercy was a U-Turn on a path of “we think hide and seek mass res is really cool, let’s buff the hell out of it until it’s viable then OMG WHAT DID WE DO?” That wasn’t actually a popular path in the community since players actually wanted to do more and had a free keybind to do it…
Even so, none of these, however much they effected the meta (not at all for Torb/Symm), never had a profound effect on specific individual heroes in the way Brig has.
Thing is, she still sucks as a healer in 2 support, so that would effectively take her out the game anyway.
They should just dump off Inspire and change her ult, make her a Tank/DPS hybrid and forget the notion of support/healing. She could probably keep armour packs, but just have them as extra HP rather than armour. Or figure some other E out.
That way she gets to keep her Anti-Flanker role and much of her actual playstyle without being bloated and breaking half the roster.
I’m playing Ashe and Widow now, so that’s actually a change I can live with… I don’t think he’ll be much more than what he is already in terms of being a noob stomper.
Guess he’ll be okay on some of the KotH maps that give him a bunch of cover to get in close but outside of that it’s Shadowstep that holds him back more than anything, until that’s addressed he’ll always be bad.
