I miss not having 2 cp maps

I like all the 2CP maps. I feel like the people who don’t like them are the same ones who only want to play deathmatch.

maybe if they are going to redesign the 2cp maps they should make more ways to get around the choke. i feel this is a big reason why people hate these maps. there is always that bottleneck?

The problem is that we can’t actually tell how many people dislike certains aspects of the game. Not everyone uses forums or media.

Removing content is always bad for a game, especially when said game didn’t have any content for almost 3 years.

Because there was nothing to change about 2CP except for the players negative mindset which seems to be impossible to switch at this point.

I just hope that players like you will have the same reaction and logic when other game modes are removed in the future and that you will accept it once a group of people actively boycott a game mode, map or hero you like.

2CP wasn’t factually problematic. The community decided it was because most of them were influenced by streamers and pro players. It’s a parrotting type of issue.

One proof I can give you of that is that everything that was reproached to 2CP by those vocal 2CP haters is even worse on Push (that we had the opportunity to test on the beta) and yet they don’t go out on a limb to state that Push should be removed.

From my point of you, they lost any credibility because of it.

Except that 2CP is not universally hated and that hatred is not built on any factual evidence. It’s just “feelings” which are by definition subjective.

If we start boycotting anything that we don’t like at 100% on a game and make a big deal ouf it (by aggressively campaigning against it on media and forums) then there’s no end to it until the game becomes almost empty, with very little content.

That’s not something everyone wants and people that aren’t as vocal deserve to be respected too. Removing content is never the answer. The biggest problem is not the game mode, yet the community’s behavior and impulsivity over the tiniest little things on a game.

It is built on factual evidence. You can see the evidence whenever you join a 2CP map. At least six people leave before the match even starts. I’ve had a few where so many people left that it throws you back into the queue.

People who like 2CP don’t live in the same reality as the rest of us when they want to force the rest of us to play it.

Imagine if they were kind enough to remove content people hate. Even in a content drought for ow1, they can’t improve the game’s quality of life. How effortless it would be. I know their goals are for OW2 but it makes me feel how little they really care about the community that stuck to their dead game. Us masochists, all. Blizzard is abusive.
Have they even played 2cp themselves?

This game would be infinitely better off if the devs removed problematic content when its deserved.

I.e… Brig. After the release of Brig, the massive backlash shouldve resulted in the devs temporarily removing her to work on her internally… instead of slowly nerfing her into still being meta for years. She finally got a rework when role que released, but it only made her better in role que and infringed on other heroes niches.

Sigma also fits into this. If role que didn’t release with insta double shield meta, it wouldve had a better chance of being more widely liked. Again, if they just listened to the backlash and temporarily disabled sigma to work on him internally, maybe people wouldnt hate role que as much as they do now.

Finally, theres role que. We can’t pretend that all these add-in heroes and an entirely new format didn’t absolutely change how the game was played. The game changed into a team-reliant ult cycle fest, aka, problems that are incredibly exaggerated by 2CP.

Temporarily removing 2CP to work on how not to make it exaggerate all the games flaws would’ve been the right move… because now we’re left with a mode that feels insanely dated and that people legitimately dodge even in T500.

That’s true, but you don’t cut out the parts you don’t like, ruin the fruit for people who do like those parts, and they say “Where in the world is my fruit!? This is a terrible establishment!”.

YOU cut the fruit out because you didn’t like it. Why would you then have the audacity to complain when there’s less fruit? At the very least, you guys should be saying “Well, we shouldn’t give blizzard too hard a time. There’s less content here because we told them to take the content out”.

I would argue Destiny 2 is a different example: Destiny already has a ton of content, so removing a game mode here and there isn’t as big a deal.

Removing an entire mode from a game during a content drought is just insane. Demanding they remove it, and then going “Why in the world is there no content!” is just silly. You ask for less content, they give you less content, you complain that there’s no content? Actually, its worse than that: They started by giving no content, and you guys demanded they take even more content.

Its a net content loss; while other games gives players new stuff to play with, Blizzard did the opposite at the behest of the players. After that, you’re not really allowed to complain about there being no content, are you?

Removing bad content is good practice, given that they couldn’t fix it.

Not everything, no. The walk to the action can take too long on Push maps, I agree on that, but when it comes to controlling the point it’s not nearly as stark. Push maps don’t feel as static, either, because of the objective moving around a la payload.

There’s no way Blizzard would waste all the time and resources they’ve put into 2CP and its maps if they didn’t have good reason to believe that the mode was largely hated.

Again, who can judge what’s bad content or not ? It’s all subjective.

This is just your opinion, it’s not factual. I find Push to be very clunky in terms of respawning. I’ve already written a feedback about once having a tank teammate walking 45 sec to 1 min to reach the robot once it was close to being pushed to the end. Very bad design in my point of view (walking simulator). I can link you my feedback if you’re interested in reading it.

Plus, Escort modes (Push included, since it’s pratically the same concept except the thing that’s pushed goes both ways) don’t really fit 5 V 5 because afk-ing around a payload or robot in a faster paced game is counterintuitive.

Oftentimes, it’s 4 V 5 because someone has to push the thingy. As a matter of fact, static objectives such as KOTH or 2CP are perfect in that new deathmatch-y game direction (5 V 5). New maps are bigger and yet all the space is not used because of having to push a payload or a robot.

Capture the flag should also be added to the standard game modes as it fits perfectly where PVP 2.0 is headed.

Escort and Push should get removed following that logic. Should I start my own campaign on forums and convince a large portion of players that I’m right so those two game modes are gone for good ?

I mean, all it takes is posting repetitive threads on a daily basis and I guess in a few years, the OW team will cave in, right ?

They did it because people were leaving and they couldn’t ban people for it because the game was already in a bad state after the big wave of people quitting the game around 2019 (soon after RQ was added as the standard mode). It was too risky to go up against that part of the community (some pro players, streamers and the toxic part of the forums).

If no one had complained on a daily basis on the forums and media, 2CP would pretty much still be there. It’s all a matter of point of view. I can’t repeat this enough but I guess you won’t agree.

Destiny removing the first 2 DLC’s has essentially ruined the game for new players so I think its a very big deal, since narrative context is detrimental to that game its ruined any hope of growing its fan base.

Have they already removed 2CP? genuine question, or is it still in the game? because if they do it on OW2’s launch then its not really removing it in a content draught is it? Since we’re getting new content on top of that no?

I miss Paris and HLC. Hopefully they can repurpose those maps eventually.

There wouldnt be anyone left to fill a 12 player game if they did

I report everyone who stays in a 2cp match.

A blacklist feature that lets you pick a couple of maps to avoid would be ideal. Deleting maps is kind of crazy in my opinion.

They need to let us blacklist game modes tbh. Or let us pick the types of maps we want. I love koth. I am ok with hybrid and escort maps.

I know its a big deal; I said it wasn’t as big of a deal. Removal of content will always be a blow to a game, and I don’t think 2CP is bad enough to warrant it, but Overwatch has less content than Destiny 2, so it’ll suffer from getting content removed even more.

They removed HLC and Paris from 2CP’s rotation, but not the entire mode I think. They removed it in OW2, and replaced it with Push mode. This still means they took out a bunch of stages that went with an entire mode for OW2 during a time when people allegedly wanted more content. You can argue the mode was taken out and replaced with Push, but I don’t think it works like that.

They still removed a mode, so that’s still less content. More content would be adding push while keeping 2cp.

at the end of the day, the content being removed was disliked by the majority. I’d rather have quality over quantity personally. Content draught or not, playing 2CP felt like applying salt to the wound and imo brought the average player experience down.

I’m glad to see it gone, I think it worked with the early 2016/17 OW. But then meta’s like Stall, GOATS and Double Shield/Bunker kind of ruined it. So instead of addressing those problems they went with removing the mode I assume, it’s each to their own.

Overwatch is a PEGI 12 game. Are you sure you fulfill the necessary conditions to playing a game like Overwatch ?

Judging by your comments, you clearly don’t.

I do. I’m 69.
