I kind of miss the 2CP maps

Not all of them of course, Paris and HLC are absolute bottom-tier trash, that need to be completely deleted and rebuilt from scratch.

But I really liked Hanamura and the first point of Temple because of the options that both teams have.

They’d only need to add a little doorway to the left of First Point Hanamura, or a bridge to that window, for Hanamura to have the same gameplay-feel of First Point Temple IMO

Volskaya was alright, definitely the middle-ground between Ok Trash and Trash Trash.

TBH, for Volskaya, just bring the Second Attacking Spawn closer to Second Point and add a little bridge on the right of Second Point, next to the Mega, to get onto that Balcony / Catwalk.

Any thoughts?

I wont miss those. I also wouldnt miss King of the hill or how its called…

Those payload and robot are the most fun and seem most fair to me as well. Those tinny maps like Ilios can be really pain to play sometimes.

I don’t, the game mode boils down to who can team-wipe the defending team on second point the fastest.

The developers had confirmed that the maps of 2CP will be readapted for another mode and it can be one of the 4. They even planned to adapt some maps with several modes, an example Numbani would be a Hybrid map and an escort. That’s just one example. But regarding the maps of 2CP I think very clearly that it will be brand new areas and not the areas we know that will be readapted, it would be too difficult.

Yeah some of the best maps were 2CP but people cried about them. Lunar colony was incredible too yet somehow people complained. The new robot push nonsense doesn’t feel nearly as strategic. Just shut your brain off and shoot. OW2 honestly feels more like cod or an arcade shooter now. They have simplified it way too much. Classic blizz tho it’s always 1 step forward 30 steps back

100 hate King of the Hill/Control.

I like 2CP though, including Paris and Horizon.

Yeah I never hated Horizon or Paris too, I think Anubis is much worse than both of them.

Horizon was especially a good map.

HLC was fun. Anubis is one of the worst maps I’ve ever played on in any FPS. Volskaya sucks too.

I really like 2cp. I’m still mad they removed horizon as it was one of my favorite maps. I can’t believe they are removing 2cp and not koth

Last I read it was specifically dated they had no plans to rework their maps at all. They only mentioned the maps being available in the content creator.

What Beas said in an interview was one dev had an idea to reuse them in new game modes. But those ideas won’t be possible until the distant future.

Basically, one dev has some ideas they want to try but there is zero budget in the schedule for trying them at any time soon. Don’t hold your breath on seeing those maps / new game modes for a few years - if ever.

Yes I will miss them cause there was nothing wrong with any of them….and it’s mostly people whining about how THEY couldn’t play those maps

During the Overwatch 2 conference on June 16, they were talking about competitive 2.0 and they showed what the game history looked like. And we see that some cards had been readapted and we saw Hanamura in escort mode.

However, they had confirmed that Hanamura was not readapted to an escort map but they had confirmed that the maps will be readapted for a mode! And for the source it’s Overwatch Cavalry.

The interview unread was after that in 6/22 where the dev said she has ideas but nothing that was planned for any time in the near future.

Like I said, I’d not hold my breath for several years.

RQ exists for the same exact reason…people couldnt play THEIR game and so whined about “OQ” basically…its the same exact thing applied to comps instead of maps…

selfishness has in MANY ways ruined the game over the years…

its at the top for a reason…

I’m pretty good at 2CP but I never have enjoyable matches in that mode, most of them are insufferable

The gap between 2CP and Push in terms of fun was the size of Jupiter

Control is still the worst gamemode though

RQ was absolutely a failure. It caused so many people to quit including pro players.

Nope it wasnt. I love RQ and alot of people I know stayed on because of it.
