I’ve got a voice mute glitch

I know this would normally belong in the technical side of the forums but really nobody reads that Which means I wouldn’t get any help or advice.

I need help because it might be a glitch.

I cannot connect to voice chat in anyway during any game mode.
When you press P and it brings up the screen with you and your teammates, next to my name there is a mic icon with a slash through it.
Clicking on the mic doesn’t change it off of the slash icon and I’ve messed around with my settings changing it to open mic, push to talk, and whatever else I could try doing.

I also cannot hear teammates. when you first enter a game, normally on the left-hand side it tells you how many teammates are in voice chat etc. but for me it does not like it’s completely muted.

This has been going on for about a month now and I believe there’s something wrong that I might be missing.

On a very rare occasions it works properly and lets me into voice chat for one game play session then permanently mutes itself when I log Out and back in.

Is this a glitch?

This could be an issue with Overwatch not recognizing your input device correctly. Try going into the audio settings on Overwatch and make sure the input device is set directly to your mic and not just ‘default device’

Definitely did that, that isn’t it.

Did this just start happening after a patch?

This has been a pretty wide spread problem since the echo patch for xbox users. Many have just put the game down because it’s unplayable without comms.

I’ve had the same issue on Xbox ever since the echo patch. Mic works fine on other games, but having the EXACT same issue.

It’s been like this for a good month now or more.
Does anyone know how to submit a ticket?
