How valorant responded to poor balance

That’s not buffs that most people would even notice, all they’re doing is making her controls feel more tight. That’s hardly a buff.

they have to do that, because the game is not released yet, overwatch is at the end of its cycle

lol its absolutely noticeable, all they needed to do was fix her hit registration

ITS ONLY 4 YEARS OLD

THAT ISNT THE END OF A LIFE CYCLE

We can cherrypick all we want. Truth is, after years of developing a game the developers are eventually going to start pushing out changes without warning us before hand. That’s just a consequence of balancing a game.

The game is in BETA, any product in beta has the potential to change wildly.

Come on man, the Valorant threads are just getting stupid at this point. If you enjoy the game so much go play it.

ofc it is, why do you think they are making ow2…

It’s not about the gameplay, it’s about devs being open with their audience, and hoping the OW devs take a lesson from it🤦‍♀️

no it isn’t, LoL has been around for 11 years, CS has been around for 20 years, siege has been out the same amount of time as OW and is at its peak number of players

Because the people who were suggesting fixes for Ashe generally wanted her to get a one shot kill all her own or buffs to BOB. The former was clearly going to be a balance nightmare and BOB is already plenty strong. Instead they buffed her in a way that kept her identity intact without making her broken and also maintaining most of her strong synergy with Mercy.

Also regarding experimental we literally just had a balance patch go live. How fast did you want these balance changes to happen? Were they supposed to be testing the next balance patch before the previous one goes live (which makes no sense when you think about it)? At some point you actually have to see if your change did the thing you wanted it to do which means waiting a week or two to see how things shake out.

Balance changes are happening FAR more frequently then ever before and I cannot imagine how they could still happen faster.

well it always as pretty much, and then they keep adding unskilled heroes that can easily challenge skilled ones, everything gets a mess. I have a friend that knows a guy that was like gold or platinum forever and when brig came out, he one tricked her into top 500, like it’s just retarded.
Instead of having two quick play modes, why not leave quick play for the casuals with the easy heroes and all, and actually make competitive hardcore without heroes like Moira, cuz like what’s the point, there’s nothing competitive about heroes like Moira, I dont see why a player would go ranked with these heroes.

youre giving them a scapegoat when they literally just killed their own game, its not “oh its been out for 4 years” no, they literally killed their own game by killing their competitive scene

This.

This is literally all it takes to keep players informed at the VERY least.

Blizzard barely does this, if at all

As someone who actually develops software for a living and has done for 10+ years, in small shops and very large enterprise products.

Did you read what I said? A beta product has the ability to change rapidly; they’re trying things to see what works and what does not work, everything is new; nothing is written in stone; They do not have a playerbase which will whinge at every change because no one is attached to anything.

It’s a brand new game. These comparisons are really, really bad.

lol its absolutely noticeable

If you compare them side by side, not really

All they did was make it so Ashe can scope headshot, then switch to hipfire a headshot. But unless you aim by hold instead of toggle it’s really not going to be a huge buff. That’s like making recovery frames for the flash bang 0.17 seconds longer, most people won’t notice, because landing a double headshot on flash requires near perfect timing.

I mean, they killed casual first when they overemphasised Overwatch League. I know a ton of people who quit during that period… Then they killed their competitive scene.

Basically, they killed their own fanbase. OW2 better be a major change or they’re screwed.

only inaugural season was even watchable, and after OWL they released these “ill hold your hand while you get wins sweetheart” heroes like Brigitte and moira

If you think blizzard doesnt make balance changes based on what the community says you’re absolutely delusional.

They don’t make the changes we want, but they do know where the problems are and they listen when we say who needs it. Ashe and Genji, for example. Pharah too.

They know with yet another flying character hitscans are going to be needed, and Ashe was doing well before, but she needed a bit more help. That’s all it is, people thinking “Ashe didn’t need anything” are not looking at the full context…

Inevitably we will see the annoying Pharecho or whatever people are now calling it…
